Do other sellers get annoyed by people who send messages asking for measurements, condition of clothing ( even though its stated in the description as "as new condition"),and sometimes even asking for photos of people wearing the clothes. Then they never buy. They don't even send a message back to say thanks for doing that or its too big for me,or too small etc. I'm at the point where Im just not responding to these type of requests. My argument is that you know what will fit you in the more common brands at least . I generally only buy brands I already wear on ebay so I don't need to ask questions of that nature. Do some people do it just to be annoying and not serious buyers?

clothing is difficult to know the fit when bought online. to avoid problems and questions as much as possible, besides ticking all the necessary item specifics, i would put the tape measure on the clothing in the photos, that way if anyone asks for those measurements, you can just let them know it's on the photos, or don't answer them.
if they are asking the measurements when the tape measure is on the clothing in the photos, u know u'll have a potential problem buyer. the ones who don't read the listing info and open a return for item not as described 🙄
the exception for answering messages or not would be: is the question reasonable?
buyers reveal themselves and we (sellers) can decide if they should be blocked or engaged with.
i've had great buyers (most of them) who asked plenty of Qs and they turn out to be awesome customers 🎉
generally, i will answer them (dumb or not Qs) bc lots of people have had bad experiences with online purchases and need to feel secure.

I’m just a buyer here who likes to read this section to pick up tips on eBay.
Hope you don’t mind but I wanted to mention something that I often have to send questions about.
Washing instructions.
If it’s a used item and you can still read the tag could you kindly include washing instructions?
Then I don’t have to waste my or your time asking.
Women’s clothing can be tricky and sometimes even tee shirts, pajamas, etc. can be hand wash or line dry. It’s not always obvious by looking at it and assuming.
Since I will rarely buy something that I can’t throw in the washer I always have to ask this.
🙂

sometimes even asking for photos of people wearing the clothes.
Well , those are likely to be fetishists.
Especially with stockings and footwear.
I'd beware of quick judgments - stockings and footwear perhaps, but many non-fetish types want to see clothing modeled on someone, as is pretty popular on a lot of sites. They'll even take a stock photo. When you think of how bad so many clothing photos are, I kinda don't blame them. Younger sites are filled with photos of people modeling clothes with cell-phone-head.
Since no one needs to see my booty in anything on line I just tell them that it's not possible, but I get few of those requests because I use a mannequin.

That's a great tip, and I'll admit, something I rarely think to add. Hopefully my photos show it, but I'll make a mental note to remember this.

@tigercatt-16 I include this. I prep everything before I list according to label instructions, and I do have items cleaned if they say 'dry clean', but if something says 'dry clean only' and I've had a lot of positive experience laundering the type of fabric, anyway, I'll mention this also (with no guarantees). I may as well pass along some of my experience laundering every kind of fabric/dye/thread combo on earth by this time and if possible save someone a few bucks. Kind of part of my 'personal shopper' service, I guess. Also, I'm into weird infrastructure lol.
My buyers really expect something to be wearable out of the package, and this assures them as well.

It's annoying. However, it's a part of ecommerce business. Just craft a response template saying that the measurements are described in the listing or shown in the photos. 🙏😎

what manufacturers or retailers list individual measurements for each garment?
Most manufacturers are selling in B&M shops, so the buyer will be trying on the garment before buying.
Famously, one exception is the British Marks and Spencers, who are so fanatical about sizing that they don't waste space on dressing rooms in their shops.
If it says it is an 18, and you are 40/32/42 it will fit.
I also thank questioners for the question and mention that I will add the information to my Description.
If one customer needs the information, another will too.

I shop for a lot of different type of clothing on eBay.
If the measurements aren't listed, a lot of times I will just back out. If it's something I really like, I will contact seller and ask for measurements.
When seller responds and the size isn't right for me.....I don't respond back. It's a waste of my time and the sellers.
I really do get annoyed when sellers don't put clothing measurements in their listings since one brand and one size can very a LOT.
I purchased 3 pairs of jeans, same brand same size and when received, each one was different and I had to return them.
Measurements do make a difference and sellers might sell more of their clothing if they had the sizes listed.
Just MHO

I had someone ask for measurements on a doll dress item. It really bothered me because it was so obvious they were using the information for some other purpose than to buy it (was already clearly listed as for 18 inch doll). I replied with the requested information because I do see it as part of doing business on eBay. It was quite annoying to me though.

The only clothing I sell is new t-shirts.
I do not include measurements, just S/M/L/XL/2XL/3XL.
I hate it when a potential customer asks for measurements but I do it anyways.
I realize/understand that shirt sizes vary from brand to brand.
Thankfully only a small percentage of my customers ask.
Question for those of you who do sell clothing/shirts.
When a customer asks for measurements on a shirt,
WHAT measurements do i give them?
