Are you not getting sales because of Sponsored Ads Listing (like me)

Zilch.  Few Sales.  Lucky to get 1 sale a month.    For at least 3 months.  Could the reason be because I haven't joined the sponsored ads club?  PLEASE DO NOT talk about my account listings and what I'm selling.  Don't do it.  Simple yes or no.

Re: Are you not getting sales because of Sponsored Ads Listing (like me)

I think a lot of it is the search engine.

If it worked like it's supposed to, people could find what they are looking for, not just what Ebay wants to show them.

Have A Great Day.

Re: Are you not getting sales because of Sponsored Ads Listing (like me)

I cannot say yes or no.

Is it best to try something new? Probably. Maybe try 2% fixed.

All promoting listings do is show your listings more.

As you most likely know, it does not mean someone will buy the item.

If you don't want to promote if you have actual watchers, send out some significant offers they can't refuse.

But...just because you send out significant offers doesn't mean someone will buy the item.

Try a mix of things, keep loading a few new listings a day...have sale.....mix up what you are selling with other items different from your current selection.... I'm sure you have heard this before.

It is not possible to simply answer yes or no.   The requirement to respond is over 10 characters.  From my perspective the answer is yes and no.

Re: Are you not getting sales because of Sponsored Ads Listing (like me)

I don’t think it is as simple as whether or not you promote your items. And, the effect that a lack of promotions has on your items will be very much linked to what you sell. If someone puts in a simple search, will your items come up on the first page? Second page? Third page?

All generalizations are wrong including this one.

Re: Are you not getting sales because of Sponsored Ads Listing (like me)

Way too many factors that come into play to assume it is only one that is driving the bus.

Do this first and see what happens....end all your listings and then relist as "sell similar".   Be mindful of how many items you have and how this will effect your 250 free listings for the month.  But I bet you will notice a whole new traffic pattern

Re: Are you not getting sales because of Sponsored Ads Listing (like me)

You must promote your listings to be seen. That's what eBay designed, and when other sellers are using it, you will be buried. Raise your prices and give eBay more is the only way to make sales on eBay. Unfortunately, it causes eBay to have the highest prices, and buyers have gotten smarter as far as shopping around.

Re: Are you not getting sales because of Sponsored Ads Listing (like me)

YES- that IS the Reason!!

The point of promotions (standard, the type only shown on ebay and is only charged when someone BUYS; vs the 'other one' where you 'pay per click, mostly on google etc. and because you sell clothing, that would NEVER be the type of promotion to use).....

You MUST try the 'standard' type to get ahead of the other listings to be seen simply because there are millions of listings

Re: Are you not getting sales because of Sponsored Ads Listing (like me)

I think if selling clothing, you need to advertise and have a store.  You want buyers in your store and to shop your store...and make returns as easy as possible...and get your own shipping accounts....and promote, promote, promote

Re: Are you not getting sales because of Sponsored Ads Listing (like me)

Those who pay for better placement would be annoyed if they did not get better placement.

About one third of my listing have PL at 2%.

Since starting the program my Views are way up.

Interestingly, less than a third of my sales are PL listings.

It looks as if the PL bring in the eyeballs, but not sales.

OTOH, if it doesn't have PL and sells, I don't pay the PL fee.

Free advertising.

YMMV

@ryry-jj stores are dead; basically 'unfindable'- even when on someone's listing. Current listings don't even say 'see store' anymore (you have to click 'see other items' then when there, click 'see store' (small at top or blue bubble).

They used to have store categories off to the left of a description where someone could easily click and see various items in a certain category from that seller.

No more.

Stores are good for 'more free listings' 'lower fvf costs' (if you do it right)

Re: Are you not getting sales because of Sponsored Ads Listing (like me)

Let's look at it this way then....how much do you spend in a month to promote yourself?

Mcdonald's is the  largest fast food chain in the world, everyone knows them, and yet they have a massive advertising budget.  Same can be said about Coca Cola or Procter and Gamble.  To be successful, you need to promote and advertise consistently...how you do that within your own niche is up to you

Re: Are you not getting sales because of Sponsored Ads Listing (like me)

With 63 listings scattered among the categories shown in @stainlessenginecovers posted chart, you should not expect many sales, even with modest promotion.

Clothing demand is complex, differs by style and size, and some of the brands you have listed are experiencing their own issues associated with sales of new clothing in their distribution channels.

Way back, you could make more sales than you can now with an inventory like yours, now your inventory is a needle in a haystack, and few people will do a search which includes enough info to find your products.

I have a large inventory, long tail products, and am mystified that anyone finds my items, with or without promotion.

Re: Are you not getting sales because of Sponsored Ads Listing (like me)

I think the biggest factor in your case is your account experiencing a lower search placement because of its below standard performance rating.

Sure, not advertising may be a factor, but I don't think it's the factor.

Others pointed out a lot of other relevant factors.
