It appears that shortly it will be possible to leave 5 pictures when you leave feedback.
Buyers, of course, can already leave negative feedback for a seller. The pictures can simply reinforce that negativity,
BUT we all know that sellers can not leave negative feedback for a buyer so they try positive feedback with a negative comment. Usually does not work out well for the seller. Judging by the posts on these boards there are certainly buyers who various sellers believe deserve negative feedback. Scams, fraudulent returns, repeated bidders who never pay, etc. You know the ones.
The cynic in me says that there are those who will try to use the pictures to make a negative point. An upside down flag for example, a universal sign of distress. Picture of an empty box suggesting that is what the return turned into. A frowning emoji. Well you get the idea.
Going to be fun to watch. I wonder how many sellers will put their foot in it. 'Cause I've got to figure eBay will be monitoring it.

You have a better chance of winning the lottery than eBay removing false negative feedback.

I guess they think they're adding an Amazon-like feature...? But on Amazon, people can leave pictures with their product reviews, not with their feedback for individual sellers. Different animal. Oh, well, eBay's biggest weakness has always been that it is reactive, thus keeping itself always a bit behind the curve.

Photos are for product reviews. Not needed for FB, especially when one has a lengthy 500 characters to make their point.
Didn’t I read somewhere that some sellers were able to get negs removed because the comment was merely a product review?
I've heard it go both ways. Technically product reviews are not allowed in FB (last time I checked policy which was a while ago), but whether or not the comment is removed depends on the CS rep reviewing your request for removal. Some sellers report success, others report failure.

@richard1rst My comments
-In general, photos are NOT required unless they are trying to change the Feedback system into a new form of Facebook, My Space, Your Face, Twitter, etc ... images would take up too much page space for members trying to see the important info on the Feedback history of another member ... this would require more scrolling which seems to be a big draw in their programming department ...
-"If" they wind up allowing it then it should be limited to POSITIVE FB thus promoting positive experiences which aligns with the eBay credo "enhancing the Buying experience". I can envision unhappy Buyers posting some rather distasteful images ... especially for Sellers who use the No returns accepted setting ... Buyers may think they have no recourse other than to attack a Seller via the FB system ... and images would take that to a whole new level.
-"If" pics are allowed I suppose eventually so will videos ... right?!? Maybe even a Live Chat with your Seller! That would be interesting ... not to mention overkill for an otherwise outdated system
-If I were asked to vote I would vote No ... twice.
-Just let them do Emojis and move on to more important issues on the site that need to be resolved
-"WHO" at eBay will review each and every image to make sure it is not porn or other distasteful subject matter?
-Will Buyers have a limit to the number of images they can upload over the life of their account? For example, here on The Community we are limited to 3000 images ... if you go over that you are blocked and have to go in to your image file to the oldest ones and delete a bunch to get back under the 3000 limit (LOL, I know this because I have done this!!!). When an image is deleted from YOUR file they also remove it from the thread it was originally posted on ... its a lot of electronic maintenance.
-How does THIS image on FeedBack fit in with eBay's "Brand"??? That's the part I am trying to wrap my head around ... there is no Fee involved for Sellers so what is their motivation? I'm not sure I really have a firm grip on eBay's "Brand" when something like this comes up ... somebody or group at Home Office doesn't have enough to do ...
-Server space could be put to better use then storing images in the FB system ...

Yeah, it won't be removed after 12 months. It'll just drop off the tally at the top of the FB page. The FB & photos will still be there if one pages through comments.
Why would it take 12+ months to have them removed if Ebay agrees they should be removed?

Yes, those are removable if the entire post was a product review. If only part of it was, then they would edit it.

That simply is not true. If the FB breaches one of the rules for FB, it can be removed. Many sellers have done it over the years. But you are correct if it does not break any rule.

I think that poster is referring to FB aging off the count at the top of the page after 12 mo. FB is not actually removed when that happens.

That is likely it. I agree.
None of us knows what the process will be to have pics removed if there is cause. I'm not sure there is even a policy for how and why to leave pics in FB yet. We need to watch for that policy to be released.

NOT!
I have one open active negative that probably won't disappear until August.
The buyer is crazy. I can tell after all the drama, and I figured out they live on monthly disability income. I received over 60 messages from the buyer with drama and false claims.
After the item was returned to me in tacked, I refunded. All Good right? Not!
I reported the buyer for their harassment and language. Nothing was done to remove the feedback. I also sent a request to the buyer to remove feedback. Nothing!

So what rule did that buyer break in the FB they left? The messages you got aren't part of it. It has to be that the FB broke a rule.
Ebay doesn't removed FB just because you want them to.

This is nothing new - usual on Etsy and Amazon for years.

REALLY?
The issue is honesty which is not relevant anymore. I do believe in Karma that will play out for those who lie, deceive, and make false claims.
Let's take a look at eBay for doing nothing. I reported the buyer. eBay can view all communication, my complete profile and the buyer's complete profile. NOTHING DONE!
Tell me why?

Why are they spending money on this? First, they spend to make it work (programming staff), 2nd all the customer service it will require to maintain, and then service all the removal requests.
I don't see any benefit except to use up more white space on a feedback page...

I don't disagree with you. It is extremely frustrating when this happens. Most of us that have been here for awhile have experienced exactly what you went through. It isn't right. I have no problem with agreeing with that. Let us keep in mind that I did NOT write the rules.
