I woke up to day checked my messages and found Ebay had opted me into the Guaranteed Delivery Program. I opted out but I am still waiting for the page to refresh. I want nothing to do with it.
It is still showing up on all of my listings.

To be sure you are opted out, change your shipping to "standard shipping". Then you won't qualify, and you won't get opted back in by accident.
This will affect your sales, but of course it is your choice.

Pretty soon the opt out will be to end all listings and just walk away...

No. That was the opt our for Free Returns.
The opt out for GD should appear once you've been automatically opted in.
Ain't eBay life fun?
Oh, yeah. A barrel of mondeys!
Thank you.
I knew - at the time - that something sounded screwy, but with all the current changes and the person on Wed. talking about the June/July 'seller release'; another Seller Update? ("In the next seller release hopefully in June/July, we are aiming to distinguish between international and domestic return policies. " - post #26), well, it is hard to keep them straight some times.
I was thinking of the March 28th Guaranteed Delivery program chat, post #91 - "We will send you an email and message on ebay.com when you've been included in the program. At that time, you can opt out through Site Preferences - there will be a section for eBay Guaranteed Delivery when you scroll down. Our data doesn't show a higher rate of returns for Guaranteed Delivery in the months that we've been live, but I understand your concern. I encourage you to test it out if you can, and then you can always opt out if it's not working for your business. Thanks for your questions today!"
I always thought it rather backwards - why not send an e-mail saying that it is available if you want to OPT-IN? I guess, not enough takers. Oh well.

Free returns is going to be an opt out?
Please tell me I don't have to be awake at 12:01 a.m. on June 1st frantically looking for that setting!

I opted out this morning before 8 am it's now 1:20 pm and it is still showing up on my listings. I wonder if an item is delivered late who gets to pay?

eBay word posted on that is until the end of the year eBay will eat all complaints.
EDIT: even if the seller does not ship on time

I wondered why the basic store has a fee increase, now I know.

Free returns is going to be an opt out?
Historically speaking and just from my observations over the last (20) years, any seemingly unpopular program that lacks volunteers becomes an "auto opt in". If that doesn't work (as in the case of free seller paid returns for any reason) they first try the carrot/stick program....to qualify for your TRS+ discount or some such. For me 10% off nothing is still nothing.
There has been no observable evidence ever produced by ebay, no real data shared, that anything they say will increase your search placement or increase your sales actually does.
I tried "free shipping" for a while. When I quit, sales increased dramatically. When observing my placement in a "raw" (new machine, new isp, etc. never before used on ebay or the net) search, I was always ranked BELOW sellers with horrible feedback, **bleep** pictures, one line descriptions, no returns as a policy, and who failed to fill out the condition box etc. etc. Their sales were better than mine for similar items.
The suggestion (never a promise) that this will increase your visiblity is unfounded...all according to me and those of us here that regulary do research....
Believe as you will. Sit around and hope things will improve or take personal responsibility for your business.

You forgot the part "til the end of the year".... As suggested, not enough volunteers thus an opt out program. Don't want to use IPR...ebay will do it for you anyway. Don't want to accept offers...have no fear, ebay will add it to your listings and auctions, too.

Thanks for the screen shot.
It's frustrating being told you will be able to opt out but not seeing the option.
Now I can verify it is not there, rather than wondering whether it is there and I have missed it 🙂
But that seems to be just a yes or no option. Which GD option did ebay opt people into? Handling time or door to door?

It's handling time , because when you go into the site preferences to switch to no
It shows what they opted you into.

It will take 24 hours for it to change, see the screen shot post#44
I highlighted it in yellow. So if OP changed to no by tomorrow it should be gone
