For those of you wondering why all of a sudden not making any sales, right now is when ebay makes massive changes, they do this at least 3 times a year. I warn of this coming every year. When they put you in there lovely beta tests, with new changes before others, YOUR SALES WILL DISAPPEAR.

As i have stated OVER AND OVER

CHANGES=NO TO LITTLE SALES

We all should be selling great right now, everyones getting there returns. BUT OH NOO, not here, there focused on changing the site over and over to the detriment of our sales. For those of you who are saying your sales are great, it's because your not in the tests, or have a large enough following that it won't affect you as bad or you have a adgenda. They LOVE to test on good sellers to, not ones with bad accounts.

I've been on a Beta test for 2 and a half years! Worse part is is a Beta test for Growth! Right next to my growth tab it says Beta. I tried to have it removed but all I got from Philippine customer service was a bunch of Cat feathers and other nonsense......

TONS OF PROOF. Some call what happens here rolling blackouts, now why would ebay want to shut out sales? That is ridiculous unless you have faltering servers. Some of it is true, like them encouraging china sales since they have a vested interest, But You have been here since 2003, you have to think back to when cassini came in, before that, they didn't change the site continuously, and someone at the top actually believes that constant testing and changes are good for sales, when there NOT.

Remember back to when they did a massive change i believe in 2011, sales crashed for several months and ebay promised they would never do such a drastic change with admittance to the changes causing lost sales.

Beta testing is what hurts sales, that is also why it affects groups of some and not others, and the changes are constant here, i have documented when they are actually leaving the site alone, compared to the gearing up of site changes, to the actually changes, the time tweaking the site from glitches to these changes and so on...

if your really interested, keep a watch and document, if you just are posting for your own reasons, i will know.

eBay does different Beta tests on different sellers at different times to see if there ideas will work. We're lab rats....

Some don't want people to actually know what is going on here, like the web designers, i can give many examples that everyone should remember, like when they changed the sign in, sales tanked for over a month, BUT, i AM on the side of people who suffer from the never ending site testing and changes, and WE ALL KNOW thats what there doing here for YEARS.

It doesn't take a genius to figure it out if you have even a simple knowledge of computers and web sites.

Does amazon make massive constant changes?? NO, because they KNOW it would affect sales, would you like me to give some others site examples that DONT do this for that very reason!

That Growth tab in Seller Hub has been in Beta since Seller Hub came out. It is that way for everyone.

The seller hub is going thru beta testing right now, i sell thousands of items at work on here, i KNOW when i see changes to the seller hub and my 100 items a day selling have gone to 6 items for days that it is because of the site changes. It can take weeks to straighten out, if EBAY STOPPED the changes, WE COULD ALL SELL NORMAL HERE!

I don't know what it is going to take for them to stop changing the LOOK here, we sellers don't NEED look changes, we need technical issues fixed, that it!

That Beta word on the Growth tab has been on there since the first day that tab was added ... years ago. I don't like Seller Hub because it doesn't play nice with my slow DSL connection ... too many spinning circles before anything happens, but it does seem at some point the Growth tab would have gotten out of Beta.

IF this were true........it's certainly costing ebay $$ from lost sales.....and they could certainly see the relationship......why would they continue to do it?

The original seller is 100% correct! An Ebay employee basically admitted it last year. Ebay does throttle or hide listings. I'll try to find it.

I wish people would understand the dynamics of this place. To average people they can't figure out why Ebay would do this, they see it as losing money to sales but having been in E-commerce for some time I can tell you its a real thing.

Let me try to explain. The mega sellers on this site is who profits Ebay the most. Ebay could never come out and say they didn't want the small sellers, but they don't really care either way. If they just got rid of small sellers they wouldn't be able to attract buyers who come here looking for those OOAK things. When that buyer comes here looking for your rare toy they want to bombard them with the mega sellers stuff. Thats why there goods will usually show before yours and Ebay has a financial motive to take care of those sellers before you. If a buyer comes here and scrolls eight pages to find your item and buys it, no harm in that either to Ebay, but Ebay hopes the sellers they push will catch the buyers eye as well. They take priority and if limiting your exposure or just blocking you out completely is what it takes to keep those sellers happy, they will do it. Those buyers aren't coming to Ebay if Ebay flat-out says "we don't want" casual sellers.

Small sellers are nothing more than a loss leader to Ebay, except you lose, not Ebay. You are a way to get buyers surfing but once surfing they don't care if you actually get a sale or not. I know this may be tough to swallow but its not out of the norm in E-commerce. Most people can't understand why they would harm you if they are set to gain financially but to be perfectly honest, you don't make them much money. They don't hate you, they don't love you and honestly they only care that you are here to drive the big time sellers.

To me it appears the web designers rule here at ebay. Why else would there be never ending testing/changes/site issues going AGAINST all expert advice not to do so! That somehow, someway, that this group has convinced them it will make sales higher, weve see it happening, for years now, it is a no brainer. It is NOT rolling blackouts, or any other conspiracy theory, it is massive site changes on a continuing basis.

Do you know how much money it costs to have never ending site overhauls! Why would they spend that as well??

I keep going back to amazon, a place that hasn't changed there look/layout in years and years, ask them why, and they will tell you because it causes huge technical issues, massive amounts of lost sales, can you imagine amazon changing its "look" all the time! Sales would die for those in the testing and changes.

As i keep saying, somehow, for some dang reason, they choose to do this, there could be other agendas as well...

They pick groups of people to test on, there accounts get low to no sales, that is a fact, they come in here with the same thing, all of a sudden "im only selling a few things in a group of days out of weeks", everyone needs to pay attention to CHANGES on there account at that time span, for 2 weeks before your in there tests, the sales slumps start, then when the changes go on your account, same thing, rotating sales, sales will get so bad for this GROUP of people, they end up leaving or listing very little, then they go to the next round of people.

I encourage ANY person to talk to a tech expert on this subject, ask them, "How do you think sales will go for a person on a site who is in and out of beta testing for a web site"? "what impact does a site have on sales if it is in constant never ending changes"? "What Technical difficulties can a site have with constant testing and changes"?

Sellers, if you see a change on your account, come in here and ask if others see it, if some are and some are not, and your sales have slumped, you are in a beta test. This also means that they like testing on you, and these tests will be done on you for about 8 months out the year, and they will NOT take you out of testing. They LOVE to test on top rated sellers. That is there top choice, great sellers.

I feel it is the right thing to do to make others aware of this horrible problem, that is we complain enough, they will stop with the never ending changes and tests, that if we could go 5 years without the LOOKS changing, that they only FIX issues or do what they need to do to keep up with the tech world, NOT THE LOOKS WORLD, that there sales would go up and so would ours. I guarantee this. EBAY STOP THE TESTS, STOP THE CHANGES, let us sell and let buyers buy in peace.

Totally agree with you, that is the "other" issue with ebay besides the beta testing and changes, they have a partnership with China, not just letting them sell here, a vested interest. But they never going to stop with that kind of manipulation, but if they stopped the betas and changes, we would still be selling here a lot more than with it. No one is ever going to forget that employee, nor should they.
