I keep rewriting this so that people will understand it and I don't want to be repetitive of others because what I'm experiencing is definitely not just me. This is global, this pandemic that we are going through and I'm not selling anything. I keep clinging to the idea that this will get better, I'll lower prices, etcetera. But my store fee isn't even being covered by my sales. I chatted with Ebay support and they just said Hey sorry about your luck and that's too bad.

I have SO MUCH stock that it's insane, I have maybe 20% of my stock listed for sale right now.

Not expecting a magical answer, or solution, just kind of venting.

This is so upsetting to me. I can't get any kind of credit for store fees or help from Ebay. But what else is new, right?

ugh.

At least we're not in Ukraine with Russians shooting at us, or in Sri Lanka with the ecomony collapsed and a now former leader on the take.   OTOH the new and "improved" omicron variants are either here or on their way. There is no precedent for these times.  I'm slowly closing down my eBay selling due to multiple factors, only some of which have to do with eBay itself.  (unless someone can convince God to cough up my new body, I"m out of options.)

One possibility is offloading extra stock at local auction, preferably one with an Internet presence.  The monies raised will range from ya gotta be kidding me to $$$,  but it's one way to get rid of things. I'm probably heading that route myself or to one of the online estate sale auctions.

She who dies with the most toys still dies; when's the estate sale?

I would never buy makeup that says it's new in box, but the photos show that it's open. Lipsticks should NEVER be opened before being sold. Makeup expires quickly, and it starts going bad as soon as you open it.

Take photos of your products SEALED, and if you want to add which shades are included, find the manufacturers stock photos.

What's going to happen in January that might make things get better?

Nothing is going to happen in January. Times are tough on many and for many life is grand. It is the nature of the beast.

Sales are down, way down.

That is the way the market goes.

Your store seems to be highly focused in the "Little Girl makeup" category. Probably not all actually for little girls, but there seems to be a real youth focus there.

Do little girls even wear makeup in the summer? My daughter hasn't mentioned or used any sort of makeup since it got hot out and she started getting wet all the time. If they aren't wearing it then they aren't asking for it and if they aren't asking for it then the parents are not buying it on ebay for them.

Depending on how much or how little money you have in your inventory you could do the one thing that always works for me, which is just lowering prices.

Inflation is pretty bad, I am also experiencing slow sales, I have been going through older listings and retaking photo's updating specifics, descriptions etc.

Also, Have you tried (instead of lowering your prices), running promotions on your oldest items for 20-30% off? Also I always offer bulk promotions, (30% off 3 or more items).

These things have helped boost my views but I think patience is key here, every category in online sales goes through boom bust cycles. I wouldn't race to the bottom with your prices, I have actually sold items after raising the price significantly (and also refreshing the listing with new/better information and photo's)..

Hope this helps. Feel free to message me.

One thing that ebay did was to change ebay bucks.    You used to earn ebay bucks on every purchase.    Sometimes they would have days where you could earn 2 or 3 times the ebay bucks.    Then they said no more ebay bucks except on the specific day they offer an ebay bucks promotion.     I am guessing they even did away with that as I don't remember a single ebay bucks promotion this entire year.     So  ebay bucks are a thing of the past??

What I have listed is about 1/3 of what I actually have in stock... I can't afford to lose thousands of $$s. But thank you.

I have a question about the calculated shipping. Do I have to box it and weigh it and add the dimensions?

Perhaps selling 2 or 3 different items together since you have so much...or even a one penny auction with free shipping?

Just ideas... You are competing with the big sellers who have many more stuff for sale and perhaps cheaper.

It  probably won't get better until the holidays. Every store has a sale with too much stock on hand just like you.

No, not at all. I think that is what hurts the most. I've got perfect everything and they still won't give out any credit for anything, even a small bit. They also ended the chat abruptly which fueled my anger.
