I read some posts recently of people complaining about the listings not showing the amount already sold.
I happened to notice today while I did a search that the search results came back showing the amount sold.
I can't recall seeing that before. Is this something new?

OH come on. How many threads do we need on this??
Ebay has been playing with how a listing presents for months now. This is just another one of those tests. No one likes it that I've chatted with or read on one of the threads where this has come up.
A while back, for awhile they had the number sold on a listing appear just a little further down on the listing. That thankfully went away as it was annoying too, but now I wish it would come back in leu of this current change of making it go POOF.
Then there is the category in which the listing is listed in. That use to be at the top of a listing. It is now all the way at the bottom of a listing. Past all the sponsored listings, it is all the way at the bottom. It takes effort to get there to see it.

I have never liked the way eBay displays the number of previous sales, I also don't like how they add the "Last One" tag on those listings when the available quantity drops to 1.
I have never complained about it because it's obvious that some sellers (of some types of items) think it's a positive.

I wonder what would happen if you just put in "LAST ONE" the title or as text on one of your listing photos. Would a lot of impulsive buyers believe it and just buy it now only to realize that it's a multi quantity listing?

Oh, I hope it doesn't come to that. What a hassle that would be. And what about the ones that have had multiple sales on them. For some buyers as well as sellers that is important info.

If you are talking about this, no it is not new - been around for years. The line of text can vary from number sold to number of watchers to displaying a discount the seller is running and more.

I try not to blatantly lie to my potential buyers! I really dislike the "last one" tag that eBay likes add to any of my listings where there has been a previous sale and the current quantity available is 1.

does that sold counter get saved somehow or can it be saved? Because I see something hard to get (from small garage type manufacturers) and keep in stock but some sellers have sold 300+ of them when In my business no hobby supplier gets that much quantity of a particular item where as someone never runs out. Seems like the counter and listing has been running for many years. Is there a way to save qty sold when listing is ended when out of stock or whatever reason.

That's what I was talking about.
I've never seen that before ... or don't remember seeing it. LOL
BTW Thanks for the shameless plug. Sales are up 25%. 😉
