Hello. Wondering if anyone has had a customer buy an item, have it delivered to a US address. Then after more than 30 days and after leaving a positive review for the seller, claims a defect, and now are magically located in another country. After initiating a return, they claim they are in another county now so they cannot return for the amount of the label you sent to their US address. They were "traveling" when they ordered the item, now they are home and realized they are not happy with the item. "I would just like a refund since I cannot return the item." It is kind of tough because they have already left a positive review and received a positive review. All of their reviews are positive and their location shows they are located in another country. Sellers should be warned about people like this.

What are they claiming?
You sent the item to a US address.
If he wants to do a return, it must also be from a US address.
It's not your fault he's in timbuktu or where ever he is.

If it's a Delaware, Florida, Oregon, etc. address always lookup in feedbacks of buyer eBay ID and their country will show up. I do it all the time.
I also google address's of buyers too much these days.
Buyer can return it to address of in their paid purchase...and will probably get returned to buyer.
'positive review' is meaningless in a return.
Enter tracking if there is an open claim...other than that the buyer usually can't get a refund but there is always that credit card dispute outside of the laws of eBay.
Good luck.

Sellers should be warned about people like this.
If the label you sent does not show successful delivery, I believe return times out and get closed in your favor? If that is the case, why would the seller need a "warning"?

You can tell them to open a return case, if you want.
Provide a label, it will only be from the Freight forwarder or address you shipped to in the US.
So it wont come back to you, no refund.
I linked you the policy that says if they shipped it elsewhere via a forwarder, they are not covered.
But if it's been more than 30 days since delivery, the MBG has expired anyway.

WISE advice. This is often a great way to calm a buyer down. They quickly find out that they will have to pay for the shipping back to the USA. And if they for some unforeseen reason decided to send it back to the Freight Forwarder's address to then in turn ship it back to the seller, the buyer would have to pay the FF for that service too.
This buyer seems to be aware that they aren't going to be able to return the item and is fishing for a partial refund with all that traveling business.

Why? Freight Forwarders aren't involved in anything a buyer may do to try and get a return and/or refund. The vast majority of shipments that go to **bleep** go off without any issue at all.
Per the OP, the buyer is claiming a defect in the product. Not an INR.
