Amazon drop shippers buying from us asking us to ship to their customer

Getting a little tired of Amazon sellers buying our items and having us drop ship to their customers. Most are asking us to ship with no invoice and claiming it is a gift lol ! Seems like there is always some sort of problem.

Anyone else dealing with this ?

Thank you

Ebay/Amazon arbitrage, when done properly, isn't even detectable by seller, in either direction.

It is detectable by buyer, but buyer isn't likely to be annoyed by the original seller, perhaps by the arbitrageur, but original seller doesn't have any special vulnerability, nor reason for concern.

Sometimes it's done improperly.  If the arb requests an address change as part of the transaction, arb is doing it wrong, and it could well be sensible to cancel "problem with address".

I have a few regular accounts that buy remotes from me and ship to different people, I'm not sure why this is bad thing?

Wish more would buy from me!

Well i am not a Amazon seller and i despise Amazon. But i do have my own Website that is rocking since Covid and our suppliers keep running out of stock on certain items. I use to be a seller on Ebay but just don't have time for Ebay and all the changes once again. But i do buy a lot on Ebay to ship to our buyers when our supplier runs out. We always put this message with our payment to the Ebay seller:

Hello,

Please do NOT include a invoice inside the package.

Thank you.

I use Ebay to help small time home base Businesses as i have been there done that as there are good times and bad times for Ebay sellers. But if Ebay sellers are still putting a invoice inside the package when i ask them NOT to well then maybe i should take our need for suppliers else where. As you can tell by my feedback as a buyer this is very concerning for my business.

Im so happy i came across this discussion because i never knew this was a problem for Ebay sellers !!!!!

I don't think that being asked to not include an invoice/packing slip is a problem.

Just don't ask for an address change.

Aaaargh! Packing slip! Packing slip! Packing slip! 😁

It is not an invoice. There is no gray area here.

that is not right.

eBay should be operating just like Paypal does! You ship to the address on record or put yourself in a bas situation.

You become an eBay member you put your required personal information in. You make a purchase, the system should automatically show your address. No option to change address should be allowed at checkout.

The other issue is (I had one recently and I cancelled it), if you set your shipping cost by buyer location based on size and weight, and then the buyer changes address at checkout, the cost can be totally different.

Example: Say you live in Texas and my information shows I live in Arizona (based on my offer or what you have set up in your listing). Come checkout time, you print my information or label and now my address is for Maine.

Not sure where you're going with this line of argument. Any on-line retailer lets you ship to an address other than your own. The only requirement is that you have that address set up before you pay, and then that goes to the seller with your payment.

But Make Offer negotiation does not include Shipping costs. If you use Calculated shipping, then that will bill the buyer based on his selected Ship To: address. If you're using fixed price shipping, then your listing price needs to be showing enough of a Shipping charge to cover the most far-flung buyers in the area to which you offer your shipping.

A substantial percentage of sales, both on ebay and Amazon, are shipped to an address other than the primary address of buyer, nominally as a gift.

There is nothing wrong with that. I do it frequently.

It won't be different if you're using calculated shipping. I had one just last week: a buyer in FL having their purchase shipped to a grandchild in OR. The shipping cost calculated correctly based on the shipping address, not the buyer's address.

We as sellers are protected from negative feedback from drop shippers, and they are NOT protected with eBay's moneyback guarantee.

Can you provide the source of those statements?

I think what he means is:

If there is a problem, the Amazon buyer deals with the Amazon seller, not the Ebay seller the product ships from. Same with MBG - buyer would be covered by Amazon, not Ebay.

That said, the Amazon seller would deal with the Ebay seller, should a problem arise. There would be no "protection" in that case.

All I know is, if it were happening to me with any regularity, I'd be raising my prices.

Again.. devil's advocate. Isn't this ideal for the seller? Seller has no risk. If item is not ultimately delivered to the location on the PayPal transaction its not the seller's problem...

Set it up to only ship to paypal verified addresses. Up to the "buyer" to get his customer's address onto his account. Not there? Too bad!

The buyer can request it shipped anywhere... if its not the ebay and paypal address, that's his problem. Seller only needs to provide proof of delivery to the address that ordered the item.

Why are you tired of making sales?  Granted, if they are buying from you, your prices may be too cheap........but why turn down sales if you are happy with the price you are selling it for?

I feel the same way.... look at this guy as a vendor. He's buying from you for what you wanted... he's selling it to them for what they wanted. I don't see the problem.

I would only take issue if they were misrepresenting the product... which is a whole other can of worms.

Here is my latest message I received from a "buyer"...quote..... "Hello!

Thank you for selling me your item!

Could you please leave out any packing slips, forms or paperwork? We can view the packing slip digitally and it’s eco-friendly if you don’t include the packing slip in the package. So please leave out any paperwork. 😃

I already updated the eBay address to match the address that the item should go to, so go ahead and ship it to the address provided.

Here's the address again for your reference:                                                                                  the end buyers info here...then the message continues....quote "Also, as a former eBay seller I’ve put together some useful tips for shipping the item in these hard times.
I know you’ve most likely shipped a LOT of items over your career but during these hard times sadly things are changing.

The shipping carriers are being MUCH more brutal with packages due to the influx of packages they have to move around.

To make sure the package arrives safely, keep in mind that the postal carriers might literally throw the packages around which can cause damage. How I’ve kept packages safe is to imagine if the package drops from a 3-6-foot distance will it still be okay? This made it so all of our packages arrived safely and in good shape.

If you ship the item in a box, polybag, bubble mailer or whatever you ship it in, just keep that in mind and the item should arrive safely.

We purchase a LOT of items, the only items we ever return are items that are either broken or don’t work upon arrival. So, if the item you send is in good working condition and arrives safely, you don’t have to worry about us returning the item. 😃

Well I have to say... I was probably used as a drop shipper (just my guess) hundreds of  times. I always honored the requests to not include invoice. Saves me money and like others here... I don't really care who its going to. As long as it ships to the paypal address, I'm not liable.

My goal is to sell items, not quibble over who buys them.

Am I missing something? Why does this matter? If you're using calculated shipping, the system will charge the buyer whatever it costs to ship the item to the address they've entered.
