All of my Item Specifics tasks have been cleared; I'm assuming by eBay. Is eBay not planning to pull the item specifics data into search or ai tools eventually?
I use them to catalog information that many sellers don't use, but information collectors of my items use in search and to categorize items (ephemera) in their own collections. I'm curious - what's the best way to find out what eBay plans to do with existing items specifics data in the future?
I plan to use them regardless but I want to know how much of a future benefit can be had by keeping them at a higher level of completion and accuracy.

Item specifics are for the Shopper/Buyer to 'utilize' should they take the time, after inputting a 'keyword phrase', to 'checkmark' the boxes on the left that those 'specifics' pertain to (which few know how to use/do)
Bottom line; they are almost never used, are worthless and best to NOT worry about them except when they are 'required'.

Hi, thanks - I know what they are for; I am just curious if eBay is publishing their plans for them in the future. Large Language Models will be capable soon of including the item specifics in searching and browsing and also possibly beneficial with algorithms if the tools determine some metadata are more accurate than others,
I'm going to continue to use them, to experiment with the benefits when search and AI are more mature. My metadata and classification will be accurate and will help others out (because AI will learn and extrapolate search results and classifications across everyone's items).

Item specifics are already used in search. If a keyword is not in the title of the listing, but is in an item specific, it will still be found in a search for that keyword.
