Account inactive

I'm just curious to find out how long has anyone had their account inactive?

Have been selling items on eBay. Drop shipping for about 2 months and I'm in the third month and my account has been inactive. I have reached out to eBay and corrected all the errors that I had in tracking. Everything has been completed but yet it's been a month and my account is still inactive and my funds are on hold.

eBay is not a platform that is designed for a retail-sourced, drop-shipping sales strategy ... in most cases, it is a platform where the products are in your hands and shipped by you.

You were lied to by the YouTube influencers and the drop-shipping enablers that make money off of your inexperience.

Your days of selling on eBay are ended.

@mcarjeanba-0

You should check your messages.  Most likely the reason is posted there.  Drop shipping seldom works out for sellers & if you don't know what you're doing, you are bound to fail.  If you were drop shipping from another retailer, then you selling days are done.  Big policy violation and eBay does not take kindly to this type of selling behavior, and so do many customers.  If customers want to purchase something from another retailer, they'll go to their site and order.  Not order it on eBay only to have Amazon or whomever deliver it.  Sorry for your situation.

Best of luck with future career opportunities

Re: Account inactive

According to the ebay policy, they will let you know in their email how long the hold will be for. They do have holds on funds for infrequent or new sellers. Here's the policy: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/payments-hold?id=4816&s.... I would suggest that you read the notice that you received from ebay, as that should have information for you. It seems that they mentioned tracking and you cleared that matter up? Make sure that going forward you put tracking on all orders, as soon as it is available to you. You can try reaching out to the folks at ebay for Business and see if they can give you a timeframe, since you cleared up the tracking issue. https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness

Good luck to you.

Both of your links worked for me too - although when the page does open it starts with a redirect back to Ebay to say that they are moving back there as of June 10.

I see a message button still at the top of the page. Do you see that?

You've corrected tracking errors -- which resulted from drop shipping.

The two are closely related.

Yet you seem to suggest that you see no connection.

Indeed, your post suggests to me that you fully intend to continue to drop ship.

If so, eBay is likely anticipating more tracking errors.

Hence, your current situation.

Re: Account inactive

Your dropshipping looks like you were shipping from Amazon.

Your account might never be active again.

Drop shipping from another retailer makes Ebay buyers angry when they discover they could have paid less. Ebay loses business and you get banned for life.

My bet is your tracking errors are shipments made by Amazon Logistics whose numbers are not accepted by Ebay. And any corrections you made were probably fraudulent.

Re: Account inactive

@mcarjeanba-0

Define what you mean by "inactive" please.  Are you restricted from listing by Ebay or is it just because your money is on hold?

If you are restricted from listing, you got an email telling you that from Ebay.  Please find that email and copy the body of the email in a post here.  Remember to black out any personal info.  We may spot something in that email that you overlooked and it could be helpful for you.

What kind of corrections were you able to make on the tracking?  That sounds a bit odd, it could just be how you described it, but what exactly did you do?

Ebay has had a rule for many years that pertains to New Seller and sellers that have been away from selling for 90+ days. The following is the policy that outlines why you money is likely on hold.

Re: Account inactive

It looks like you've had to cancel and refund many orders... That's a red flag.  In combination with being a drop shipper, I'd have to agree with others who've surmised your selling days are over.
