Hey guys. I wonder when do you leave feedback to your customers. As I buyer I almost always get a feedback already after purchase and payment "fast payment, quick response bla bla bla" or don't get any feedback at all.
I usually track my shipments so I leave feedback when the item is delivered. When do you leave? After payment? Or you wait a little bit because the buyer could be a scammer and you can't report him after positive feedback? Maybe you wait for a positive feedback from buyer. Or never leave feedbacks?
I always leave feedbacks. I saw few negative feedbacks of my friends and sellers I buy from. "The seller didn't leave me a feedback so I'm gonna leave him negative feedback because I purchased 3 items". For me as a buyer, it's pretty funny. As a seller: scared me that no feedback could be a such big problem for customers.

I leave it right after they pay. You cant give them negs so its pointless to hold out.
It does show you have sold more stuff than feedback shows, because most buyers dont leave it anymore.

@lovingroger2020 As a Seller I leave FB while the label is printing out, then its done and I can forget it. As a Buyer I leave FB right after opening and inspecting the item unless there is an issue, then I message the Seller FIRST, work things out and then leave FB.

I had always received feedback on 80% to 85% of the items I sold... a very high number for eBay in general, but that's because of the items I sell.
Buyers must dislike the new leave feedback page even more than I do! Since that "improvement", almost no one leaves me feedback anymore.

Right. I think sellers should wait until they recieve f/b and the transaction is really "complete". But because of the problem we've already discussed I went to leaving f/b upon payment, and now that you cannot leave bad f/b for bad buyers waiting is totally pointless. That doesn't mean I won't post a Follow Up to my feedback, or a Reply to their feedback, or both, where approriate though!

I leave feedback when I ship the item. I just do it as a part of shipping. Since all we can leave is positive feedback, I thank them for their purchase and hope the like their purchase. Yes, there are times that I wish I hadn't given a PITA a nice feedback, I figure if future buyers are looking at my feedbacks, they see that they are all professional and positive.
I used to wait until I received feedback from the buyer, but that turned into a power game of who would leave feedback last.
If sellers were still allowed to leave honest feedback to buyers, I would wait until I heard from the seller that they were pleased with the purchase and leave feedback then. You can still report the buyer after you leave positive feedback---I have done it a few times.

Actually, wow, I didn't know I can report a buyer after leaving a postive feedback. Good to know but I really hope I'll never report anyone. My customers are very nice, pleasant and patient so I don't have to do it. I often have returning customers so I could leave them feedback after payment, but it's my routine to leave it after delivery. They are not angry that got feedback three - five days later after payment.
But I'm still super surprised that no feedback from a seller could be a problem. Why it's so important? All buyers have 100% postive feedbacks so... one or two less?

I don't know... It's a hold-over from the old days, when feedback actually mattered. There was this never-ending debate about who should leave f/b first... I'm surprised we haven't seen the one user who still loves debating it here yet.
Back then, the item would be delivered, but the seller still didn't want to leave f/b first, because the buyer might neg. them, and they wanted to issue a neg. in return.
One argument was that the bad seller wanted to use their neg. to leverage a mutual f/b withdrawl, to make the deserved neg. the buyer left go away.
The other argument was that the seller was leaving a deserved neg. for a buyer who left a ridiculous neg., or was trying to extort something by leaving a neg., and that the buyer deserved the neg. for doing this... an honest feedback, since getting neg.d for this reason was a negative experience for the seller, and they wanted to warn other sellers.
Plus, many buyers then aspired to be sellers, and you couldn't sell much or get decent money for anything if you didn't already have a lot of feedback, so accumulating f/b was important to them.
Today of course, all that's meaningless for the most part. But some buyers persist in demanding feedback, and consider it a crime against humanity to not receive it immediately upon payment. Since you can't leave anything but a pos. for them anyhow, there's no reason to die on that hill and end up with a red donut like the one pictured ^^^.

As a seller I leave it after I have received feedback from the buyer. This way I know they have received the item and they are satisfied. I also follow my own lead and when I am buying something I will leave feedback as soon as I get the item, assuming there is no problem. Sometimes if there was a small issue I will just not leave feedback. It's not a big enough deal to reach out to the seller, but I don't think it warrants pos feedback either. I think I have only left a couple of negs and that was when I tried to resolve an issue and the seller was not cooperative.

Incidentally I think many buyers are thinking less and less about FB. I know my items are packaged well and as described. But I only get a fraction of the feedback I used to get maybe 10-12 years ago. I just think a lot of people don't really see the value in it.

Is it though? Even if it only prevents just one scammer/nightmare buyer from getting undeserved positive feedback, waiting is worth it. I'm sure many "feedback first" sellers who have experienced either of these buyers regret posting it at payment. Talk about adding insult to injury...
Of course, I've been leaving it last since 2000 and never had that problem.

I leave feedback when I get around to it.
Usually about once a month unless I have a buyer specifically asked me to leave feedback.
