.35 cent charge for revising a current live listing

I go in to revise(update/edit) a listing, to change the shipping cost, and I get a .35 cent charge for revising a current live listing. It just started today. I called eBay, and the Rep. said that I will now be charged, for any edits???....is this happening to anyone else. I have a few accounts, and it is happening to all 3 accts. I have been with eBay for 20 years...first time this has happened....so If I want to add a photo..35 cents,..if I want to lower the price...another 35 cents?

In my case this is a display error. I've been seeing the insertion fee on the revision form for 4 days, but so far no fees have been assessed. I've been posting about it here for anybody that wants to see screenshots and read more.

I just edited most parts of a listing (title, photo, description and postage)  one feature at a time and none of the edits generated any fee.

I am seeing this 35 cent charge as well when going in to edit. I do not have a store, just the 250 free that they give us every month. I only have 177 things listed. I don't have anything else added to the listings, no subtitles, no gallery photos, nothing. Seems like it must be a glitch but I hope it gets fixed ASAP!

I use the Android app to list and suddenly today it won't even let me revise any listings at all.  I guess it'll save me 35 cents, lol

Re: .35 cent charge for revising a current live listing

I'm sitting here laughing...a few months ago we got these constant annoying messages to "revise your item"  I never did it. Now if you want to revise, you have to pay? Makes perfect sense...nonsense!

I haven't seen anybody confirm they were actually charged and I've asked a lot of posters. All signs point to a display error - which shouldn't be happening in the first place, but it's not nearly as bad as actually being charged.

Re: .35 cent charge for revising a current live listing

I had the 35 cent fee come up after initially getting the revise type and revise item specifics on all my listings. So I was going to revise and noticed that the enlarged photo option had a blue checkmark by it which I did not do. So I refreshed the page unchecked it and scrolled down and still a 35 charge going to happen.

So at this point I am not revising anything until Nov 1 or I will wait until items end and then see if any charge when I resist and edit.

If people want to roll the dice on this being a glitch and not being charged when you are liable for it after clicking submit go right ahead..I will wait until the dust settles some!

Re: .35 cent charge for revising a current live listing

I have been having the same issue and also decided to wait until today, November 1st to see if it made a difference. It did not. I'm still being charged .35 per item. I just went from listing 250 free items with no store, to opening a starter store just so I could have specific categories. Now I cannot change categories without a .35 cent fee for revisions. I should have stuck with things the way they were. I ended up here because I was trying to figure out if it was happening to anyone else. I guess it's not just me.

Re: .35 cent charge for revising a current live listing

I believe this happens if you've reached your monthly quota of "free" listings, an edit is considered the same as relisting (ending one and starting another) so if you have no free listings left you're charged for it.  That, or you have something selected (such as gallery photos) or something else that is causing eaby to charge you the fee.

Re: .35 cent charge for revising a current live listing

My dashboard states that I have used 1 listing and have 249 left. I have not selected any special things such as gallery photos etc. What I have been doing this morning is opening each item individually to revise and before making any changes, I scroll to the bottom to see what the fee is. There is already a .35 cent fee at the bottom before I have made a single change, yet I still have 249 listings to go? Not sure why it's happening, but I cannot afford these revisions.

It would be great if someone from eBay could clarify what's going on here.

Glitch? New Fee?

I have had that issue several times in the past. The last time was about 3 months ago. It appears to be another glitch ebay never really fixed. I just wait and try again later. I do not wish to go through trying to get CS to reimburse my account. It can be a major headache.

Hey @glasser! The only time a fee is charged when a listing is revised is if an optional/upgrade feature is used. Outside of that, I do see a ticket open as of a few days ago where we're seeing some charges when a seller revises their listing and no feature was added.

The more examples we can provide the tech team, the better. If you have been charged a fee when simply revising a listing and not adding any additional feature/listing upgrades, please reply here with the item number(s) and I'll get them added to the ticket. Please be sure to tag me ( velvet@ebay ) too, so I don't miss any. Thanks!

Velvet,
eBay
