Her Feedback:
"The item description and the photographs were quite misleading. The items sent were highly tarnished and in broken condition, however, the seller did not at any stage disclose the same to me. Also, 'Avon jeweler' is not 'signed jewelery', kindly do not mislead unsuspecting buyers. I think she takes the 'junque' part too seriously, for that's exactly what I was sold."
My reply:
"Im sorry you were unhappy with your purchase. It is vintage jewelry and not new. Here is some of the items in that lot you recived:
Signed Lia Sophia "Appletini" Ring (Retired)
Signed Lia Sophia "Alex" Necklace (Retired)
Signed Avon silvertone flower basket pin (selling for atleast $10 alone)
Avon unsigned (dot in circle) Curly necklace (selling for $15-22 alone-use reverse google)
Avon "Precious Pretenders" 1971 Clip on earrings
Vintage Avon Gold Toned Dangle Leaf Earrings with Rice-Like Faux Pearl Accents -Signed on the butterly backs "Avon" goldtone leaf and faux pearl earrings (selling right now for over $16 on Etsy)
Unsigned 1928 Brand (swirl on back) goldtone pink rose earrings
Signed Trifari Necklace
Signed Napier Necklace
Signed RLL (Ralph Lauren) purple glass necklace (signed RLL etched in the glass)
Signed RLL (Ralph Lauren) 14K gold square post back earrings (signed 14K on posts and RLL inside)
Rare signed Merlite brand (M pictograph on the hangtag) clear and green rhinestone bracelet
Elephants were stamped 925 with Marcasites
Goldtone pressed real flower necklace (new old stock-never worn)
1960's Signed Sarah Coventry "Light of the East" Brooch and matching signed post back earring set
Double Ram head Goldtone Earrings
Signed W Germany mother of mary rhinestone necklace, new old stock
Vintage red rhinestone ladybug pin (collectors item)
Amber glass and pearl drop leverback earrings
The glass heart "Those we love dont walk away" memorial necklace is an unsigned Danbury Mint-(use reverse google, sells for $35-$39 alone)
Goldtone Stamped "14K" Goldtone Necklace
Faux Pearl and Black glass Necklace
Clear rhinestone Angel Pin
And more. Yes a few items had some wear/tarnish like the near antique brass embossed box, one of the bracelets and a necklace and the signed necklace and earring set had some tarnish, one goldtone necklace needed ends attached, but the majority did NOT have tarnish and were in great to excellent condition for their age. All earring had pairs".
No, my photos weren't that great, I agree. She shows one earring that a cab came off (it was in good condition when I packed it) and an antique pin that did have some wear, but the extra tiny stones were intact prior to shipping (from US to India). It is vintage estate jewelry and not new. Purchaser has zero feedback.
I know you cant please everyone but her saying its junque, broken and all tarnished is not true, so Im just on my soapbox here because I cant put all of this in my reply feedback...

My advice would be to change your return policy from "No Returns" to "30 day returns with seller paying the shipping cost" that way if there is a issue the buyer can escalate the return and you would have some leverage with Ebay for negative feedback removal by saying you have a 30 day returns and you are paying the shipping cost.

Thank you for this suggestion. That makes sense.

Thank you, yes in hindsight...

Thanks for your lengthy reply (and the laughs). I didnt know about the EIS resale, but its not surprising. I dont care or mind what someone does with them after the sale.
Your right about the fact that I shouldve had these in better lighting with more details in the listing. I usually do, but I was at my Aunts and was being hurried-anyway, lesson learned!
Wow, sad to hear someone else closed their entire store after a decade and one neg FB.
Yes Avon is signed and not junk nor were the many other pieces.
I'm wondering for an international sale through he ebay program, if my items could have somehow gotten switched for some tarnished, broken junque?
Also, does anyone know if they repackaged your sold items at a hub?
09-18-2024 02:29 PM
From what I understand repackaging is rare, like only if poorly-packaged in the first place, and maybe some high-dollar items to make sure a seller isn't trying to pull an easy return-proof scam. Even if they did open up a mixed lot of jewelry I really doubt they would open 2 at the same time on the same table.
This buyer is simply LYING. If there was such horrors like she said, then why did she only photograph one popped-off cabochon (which she probably did herself, and will just glue it back on). She's scum, period. She knows you aren't going to see the jewelry again to confirm or debunk her claim, in fact she'll probably keep the best pieces and send the rest back to eBay.
(please please please PM me her username so I can block her)

Thanks for the info about repackaging. I was just curious if they did that. I can understand if they want to for poorly packed items or to check for high dollar items being what they say it is. For that reason, I have sent signature required for high dollar items and I believe ebay even requires it.
Yes, I know they are lying and Im gonna live with her negative feedback. She wont remove it and neither will ebay. But like you mentioned, it doesnt even make sense-her FB and educated buyers will know better. For all I know she could return rusted junk to ebay..terrible.
To note: they had zero feedback and signed up the same day to buy this lot.

It took me a long, long time, but I finally learned to roll with unfair negative feedback. I used to get REALLY angry and lose sleep. Now, I don't take it personally and view it simply as cost of doing business. Same with "did not receive" in which case you say goodbye to the item and eat the shipping cost. Our pals at eBay aren't going to step in and help you. They're not cops and rarely use tracking to bring bad guys into line. Fortunately, the vast majority of buyers on eBay are reasonable and honest. That's why it generally works. However, every endeavor has its jerks. I think most sellers need just a touch of cynicism to do this over the long haul.

Yes, its all just business most good a few not, but I wont loose sleep over it..yes, years ago, I may have too. Thanks for your reply 🙏

Did you ever receive any notification from the EIS program about her return? I wouldn't give up yet on this until you hear from them concerning any not as described return filed.
09-18-2024 05:03 PM
I received 2 messages from eBay and saw no reason given. Here are the 2 separate messages:
Return in progress
eBay managed return: We're handling this return on your behalf as a part of eBay International Shipping. You don't need to do anything else and won't be responsible for this refund.
We took care of this return for you
You don't need to refund the buyer, and you will not receive the item back. Thanks for trusting eBay International Shipping with this order.

It could also be that Im not seeing it...
09-18-2024 05:20 PM
That’s good so far since they are paying this for you even though it was filed as a not as described return and nothing about how the package was handled. The eBay policy wasn’t really too clear about that in my opinion. Since they are handling this, I would also expect the feedback may be removed.
09-18-2024 05:42 PM
No it wasnt clear. I asked the seller to revise it, they wouldn't and ebay wont remove it:
Your feedback will not be revised
Hi Seller,
Buyer has declined your feedback revision request for Huge Jewelry Lot Vintage Necklaces Ring Earrings ++ Estate Items (196565148806).
Reason for declining: The original feedback I left for the seller was accurate
The original feedback rating and comments will remain in your feedback profile. Please respect their decision.
I contacted ebay to see if they would remove it, here is their decision:
We reviewed your request
Hello featherfootfarmfinds,
We reviewed your request to remove the feedback from Buyer for Huge Jewelry Lot Vintage Necklaces Ring Earrings ++ Estate Items. Unfortunately we won’t be able to remove this comment because it doesn’t violate any of our feedback policies.
We understand how important positive feedback is, but giving everyone a chance to share their experiences helps keep our marketplace trusted and fair. This won’t affect your rating as a seller.
So, I will live with the neg feedback since there is little I can do it seems. It's ok, tomorrow's another day...Thanks for your help and follows 😙

I still think the protections offered with the EIS program are separate from those removal options.
09-18-2024 06:51 PM
Oh wow, I still may have a fighting chance 😄 Thanks for the info.
