1st Negative Feedback -Any thoughts?

Her Feedback:
"The item description and the photographs were quite misleading. The items sent were highly tarnished and in broken condition, however, the seller did not at any stage disclose the same to me. Also, 'Avon jeweler' is not 'signed jewelery', kindly do not mislead unsuspecting buyers. I think she takes the 'junque' part too seriously, for that's exactly what I was sold."

My reply:
"Im sorry you were unhappy with your purchase. It is vintage jewelry and not new. Here is some of the items in that lot you recived:
Signed Lia Sophia "Appletini" Ring (Retired)
Signed Lia Sophia "Alex" Necklace (Retired)
Signed Avon silvertone flower basket pin (selling for atleast $10 alone)
Avon unsigned (dot in circle) Curly necklace (selling for $15-22 alone-use reverse google)
Avon "Precious Pretenders" 1971 Clip on earrings
Vintage Avon Gold Toned Dangle Leaf Earrings with Rice-Like Faux Pearl Accents -Signed on the butterly backs "Avon" goldtone leaf and faux pearl earrings (selling right now for over $16 on Etsy)
Unsigned 1928 Brand (swirl on back) goldtone pink rose earrings
Signed Trifari Necklace
Signed Napier Necklace
Signed RLL (Ralph Lauren) purple glass necklace (signed RLL etched in the glass)
Signed RLL (Ralph Lauren) 14K gold square post back earrings (signed 14K on posts and RLL inside)
Rare signed Merlite brand (M pictograph on the hangtag) clear and green rhinestone bracelet
Elephants were stamped 925 with Marcasites
Goldtone pressed real flower necklace (new old stock-never worn)
1960's Signed Sarah Coventry "Light of the East" Brooch and matching signed post back earring set
Double Ram head Goldtone Earrings
Signed W Germany mother of mary rhinestone necklace, new old stock
Vintage red rhinestone ladybug pin (collectors item)
Amber glass and pearl drop leverback earrings
The glass heart "Those we love dont walk away" memorial necklace is an unsigned Danbury Mint-(use reverse google, sells for $35-$39 alone)
Goldtone Stamped "14K" Goldtone Necklace
Faux Pearl and Black glass Necklace
Clear rhinestone Angel Pin
And more. Yes a few items had some wear/tarnish like the near antique brass embossed box, one of the bracelets and a necklace and the signed necklace and earring set had some tarnish, one goldtone necklace needed ends attached, but the majority did NOT have tarnish and were in great to excellent condition for their age. All earring had pairs".

No, my photos weren't that great, I agree. She shows one earring that a cab came off (it was in good condition when I packed it) and an antique pin that did have some wear, but the extra tiny stones were intact prior to shipping (from US to India). It is vintage estate jewelry and not new. Purchaser has zero feedback.

I know you cant please everyone but her saying its junque, broken  and all tarnished is not true, so Im just on my soapbox here because I cant put all of this in my reply feedback...

1st Negative Feedback -Any thoughts?

My reading of that is that it would not apply in this case, because it was about the item and not about it's handling.  You can always try to get it removed, though!  You do that here: https://www.ebay.com/sellerhelp/feedback (start there, not with customer service, both because it's easier and because they might not help if you haven't tried that first).

@featherfootfarmfinds

How did you reply?  In a message?

You have the opportunity to reply to the buyer's feedback on your feedback page.

I recommend that you do so, in a polite, professional and courteous manner that shows the world that you are responsible, honorable and had no intention of misleading anyone.

You can also mention that the buyer is always welcome to return your items for a full refund.

This one bad feedback will not be detrimental to your sales if you respond as I suggest.

Having said all that, was there more information that you could have disclosed to the buyer?

Yes, I replied (as shown above) in a polite, professional manner to the buyer.  I have asked for feedback revision (perhaps to atleast a neutral?).  As stated, I agree my photos could have been better and the description more detailed (I was not at home at the time of photographing them- so thats my fault. But for them to state they were ALL junk, tarnished and broken is absolutely not true.  As of right now. it looks as though I am only allowed to leave them positive feedback in rebuttal.  The buyer has made a return.

As of right now. it looks as though I am only allowed to leave them positive feedback in rebuttal.

You do not need to leave the buyer feedback.

I am suggesting that you respond directly to the feedback the buyer left you.

I looked at your feedback page and did not see that you had so responded.

". . . it looks as though I am only allowed to leave them positive feedback in rebuttal."

There is no situation at all ever where a seller can leave buyers negative feedback.

Considering the feedback they left, it may be possible that they confused your sale with another. From what I see, there is nothing that says that your items are signed and Avon.

Ask them if they left you feedback by mistake before you send them a book. (long-winded message)

Thank you. Its part my fault for not mentioning all the signed items and not photographing the lot well enough. They did ask questions via ebay messaging and we were conversing back and forth, and thats where I said there were some nice signed items in the lot including Avon. There were many signed nice pieces in the lot, so lesson learned to include every signed or unsigned details and take better photos.

Lesson learned and I would not worry too much about the negative feedback. Just respond to the feedback left and do not leave them feedback as others have suggested.

-Good luck

I would not concern myself with the feedback until the return has been completed.   I'm guessing you are not in the ebay international shipping program or they would be handling this.   I notice in your terms of sale you state the buyer is to pay for the return shipping for not as described returns and this is not correct.

1st Negative Feedback -Any thoughts?

Yes, I did sell the lot through the ebay international shipping program. They returned it with ebay and I dont know how that works, but I got a message from ebay saying the buyer requested a return, but Im not responsible for it. So does that mean ebay will eat the sale?

Hmmmm 0 Feed Back buyer.  Almost looks like reseller sabotage.  Nothing in your listing description says you have Avon but your buyer points this out like it is an issue.  What  does your buyers feedback left for others look like?
