1099 question

Re: ebay's 1099-K. I read that ebay includes all the refunds, etc in the 1099 total and that I as a seller have to deduct the returns, etc as an expense. But when I checked ebay's 1099 total with my Excel spreadsheet total (in which I have already deducted the returns/refunds), I'm coming up with basically the same amount. So it appears to me that ebay has not included returns/refunds in my 1099? I'm racking my brain and have not come to any other solution. Any thoughts?

Don't go by what you "read" somewhere, go by eBay's explanation says is included:

 https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/ebay-form-1099k?id=4794#section3

eBay does not deduct refunds. So if you were paid $1000 and ended up refunding $100, the 1099-K will report $1000.

And my returns/refunds are a significant dollar amount to where it would be noticed.

On the IRS Schedule C, there is a line to deduct refunds and returns.

1099 question

Well my 1099 seems to make adjustment for returns and refunds. Odd.
