I must have somehow missed all the info on the new payment system. Now, that I did finally start to go through updating my profile, I'm so unhappy. I make less than $2,000 on a great year with ebay. I sell items that I have purchased (many years ago,) still own, etc. and definitely do not make a profit- I shouldn't have bought or hung onto so much stuff, in the first place! I do feel that it is worth it, though, because I really need the money- and that I get! I also have had to sell off supplies as destash lots, etc. I "get" the 1099 and paying the Government. I already received a response regarding ebay's Social Security Request and NOW "get" that if I don't do it I cannot sell on ebay. It's very frustrating because I will be paying out more money, it's a bit more time consuming and I'm still feeling uncomfortable for security reasons- now that my Social Security is in another place. As I read on, I see that no longer will I be using Paypal and I need to add my bank account? Is that the only option, now? Social Security and Bank Account? I've had a couple of "almost" problems, just recently by not being alerted by eBay about sales that I made. I'm assuming that is just part of this new system. I have been checking daily now- on the site, to make sure I am not missing anything. I used to get an email alert. In addition, I'm still not clear on how the payment and timing works. I also am not sure when it is actually effective. Or- has it already started? I had one item sell last week that I am shipping on Monday. Soooo, will I lose that money on that particular sold item, if I don't supply the info requested by eBay? One more question: I may just have to leave eBay after many years, though I do hate to- I have just looked through the prompts on the help/account/seller pages and I can't seem to get to a direct way to just "opt out." Is there one, or do I have to go item by item to delete my listings. I started doing that, then putting some back ---0while putting an "away" halt on my account, while I figure it all out- to see what my best choice is. And, if I do opt out for good, have I covered the effective date so that I don't end up losing the money from my recent sales? I realize I am down to the wire now and have to make a decision but want to make sure that in the process I don't lose money because of my very late, hopefully-not, too late, decision. Thanks, everyone/anyone.
