It is now 4 WEEKS since ebays gaffe re auto relist where by 700+ of my “auto relist until sold” items were not “auto relisted”. I have emailed on average twice a day to see see if their error has been fixed, at least 3 quarters of these emails have been completely IGNORED a few
have said they are looking into it and a couple have said they have “followed up” the messages on my account.! 2 PROMISED (1 "chat" and 1 email )to get back to me in 72hrs (max) to tell me it was fixed this is now TWO WEEKS ago and I have heard nothing!
I have been using ebay for 18 years and every item (well over 10,000) I have listed as auction in this time has been set to "auto relist until sold" yet numerous ebay reps say "the box was not ticked to auton relist" Like 700 after 18 years was MY mistake PLEASE!! I mean I evan have a screen shot (asked for by ebay way back when I started my complaint) showing under each of these 700 + items, now for 4 weeks ,ALL in my unsold folder however ALL stating underneath "relist until item sells" that last week ebay thought it prudent to remove presumably to TRY and cover up this huge error. I have no bought to sell, listed or relisted items in these 4 weeks it is costing me a fortune in sales (and ebay but they can afford such WAY better than I ) I have even had an ebay "rep" SAY there was never a message on ebay saying SOME of the auto relist options were being done away with "early 2022" but NOT "auto relist until sold" When I copied pasted that ebay message in my reply to ebay again I was just completely ignored. Is there anyone out there able to tell me firstly if this gaffe has now been fixed? Secondly where does one now find the "automatic rules " choices box and thirdly how to I bulk relist all these auction items that have now been in unsold box for a MONTH!?

Auction-style listings If you select the auto-relist option (if available) when you create your listing: Auctions with a duration of 5 days or more will be automatically relisted up to 8 times Auctions with a duration of 1 or 3 days will be automatically relisted up to 8 times as a 7-day listing Auto-relists are free, except for listings in vehicles categories JUST COPIED AND PASTED THE ABOVE FROM EBAY SITE. WHY HAVE I BEEN CHARGED 18p FOR ALL MY RELSIST UNTIL ITEM SOLD WHEN IT CLEARLY STATES THESE ARE NOW FREE!!!? |

The automatic relists for auctions are only free-insertion-fee when they are relisted automatically. You have to pay the insertion fee for the first listing, or else it counts as one of the free-insertion-fee listings you have available. Then any subsequent relists up to 8 times would not be charged.
But, the option to relist automatically up to 8 times was only available on the "simple" listing tool, and as I understand it, was not available to business sellers, only sellers with a personal account. You are registered as a business seller on eBay UK, so I would not have expected it to be available to you. I'm not even sure if this option is available any more since eBay changed the listing tool.
This is not the same as the "relist automatically until it sells" which you were using. That was apparently part of a beta test which was only available to certain newer sellers, and only while they met the criteria. When they don't meet the criteria any more, it's not available any more.

@lacemaker3 thanks for reply. Yeah someone replied on UK (amazingly) but I dont see anywhere where it states FREE for 8 times is purely for private sellers ? If it is then I will be financially better of listing my auction items on private account!? although only 18P a relist when you are doing hundreds that soon mounts up !

I don't think that it was ever explicitly stated anywhere on eBay.com that the option to relist an auction automatically up to 8 times was only available for private sellers. On eBay.com, there is no distinction between private and business sellers as far as the fees go (not like there is on eBay.co.uk). Here is the policy page about this, which doesn't mention the limitations. However, eBay.com had 2 listings tools, and the option to relist automatically was only available on the "Quick listing tool", and not on the "Advanced listing tool". I don't know what the situation is now, with the new listing tool.
On eBay UK:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/listings/creating-managing-listings/relisting-items?id=4147
On eBay USA:
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/listings/creating-managing-listings/relisting-items?id=4147
There should be a checkbox to turn on this feature, on the listing page when you start (or manually relist) a listing, but only if it is available to you at the time. You have to check the box to take advantage of the automatic relisting. If it's not available on your listing tool, then you can look to see if you can change to a different listing tool, by clicking a link at the top of the page. But, I don't know if there are different listing tools available on eBay UK or not.
As velvet@ebay explained before, this feature seems to be intended for newer sellers. I think they would prefer that more experienced sellers, with more history and more listings, would consider subscribing to an eBay Store to get more free-insertion-fee listings.
You can also consider using fixed price listings instead of auctions. If most of your listing are not getting bids, or only 1 bid, then fixed price would probably work out better for you. Fixed price listings only relist once a month, and with a store, you can get lots of free fixed price listings.

@lacemaker3 Thanks again. I do have a "store" just the second cheapest one, and list some Buy it now and some auction depending on the items. Thing with Buy it now it only become a "new" listing every 30 days where as with action I always pick 7 or 10 days so its thrown up for Beatles fans way more often! Seems completely unfair that lesser users or these do not declare for tax purposes that THEY get free autorelist and my "shop" only allows for 200 of such a month! and I have around 700 auction! ALso seem hugely unfair different listing rules in USA than from UK been ebaying for 18 plus years and these last two **bleep** ups by ebay (the NONE relisting of 700 items last month ) and now I spent days manually relisting all these in belief they would be good for a one off listing fee for 8 weeks I am seriously at wits end and the FACT NO one from ebay "staff" replies to the emails I send daily! and if I get an auto "reply it sates "thanks for your SUGGESTION but we cant be bothered reply to you even although you pay us thousands a month!

Fixed price listings are set to Good 'Til Cancelled duration by default. This means your listing will renew automatically every month until it sells or you end it. When you refund a buyer for a return or a canceled order, we'll automatically relist your item for you. Hope It will help you

The automatic listing up to 8 times is broken for me under the new Unified Listing tool. The Quick Listing Tool option was removed for me. Under the new Unified Listing tool, there is no check box to automatically relist up to 8 times. Very frustrating.

"In essence, the auto-relist option the seller has been experiencing is still in the testing phase, and it is offered to newer sellers under certain criteria. Once a seller has listed a certain number of items, this functionality may disappear from the listing flows.
The option will appear for eligible sellers only, will only work if the item qualifies, and it may take up to 24 hours before the automatic relist actually occurs."

Thank you for that information, velvet@ebay.
I believe this might have happened to me. Is there any way to verify that? It would have been helpful to be notified ahead of time.

Hi @vilaluz! There's no notification so to speak. If you no longer qualify for them, then the option disappears. That feedback has been passed on though.

OK! Now here's a weird thing that just happened. I tested the new Unified Listing form (web) on my mobile phone and the "auto-relist 8 times" switch is there! But it's still not there on my desktop computer.

It looks like updates are happening right now. I tested the new Unified Listing form on my phone (Chrome web) and the "auto-relist 8 times" switch was there. I went to my desktop computer, but the switch still wasn't there. I tried to save my test listing and got a server error. A few minutes later I tried a new test listing and the auto-list switch is there!
