Re: Registering and verifying as a seller

If I read the last line, you have $ amount selling limits, if that is correct, there is no way to increase that amount except by selling with in that limit and constantly delivering good service. It will take more than a few months to increase your selling limit. The micro deposits will be showing up in the checking account that you are using for your account which has to be one of the approved banks and name/address etc have to match exactly between the bank and eBay.

Have you gone to help /contact and read about setting up your account and selling on eBay?

Once you have your managed pay set up, it can take up to 30 or longer in some cases to receive your payout. The holds are for any returning seller that has not sold in the past 90 days or new sellers.

A 10k item is not a good idea till you have some sells under your belt.

Re: Registering and verifying as a seller

I am a private gem collector who is looking to sell some of my collection and none of them are worth less than 9k$ I need a way to verify before I can sell anything because there is no way I am underselling myself that badly. And yes i read the whole article on https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/registering-seller?id=4792 it doesnt say anything about having to sell for months in order to register either, i simply want instructions on how to register as the links are not appearing for me. Would you sell a cut 9 or 10 carat red bixbite thats worth over 10k$ for 500$ ? If you say yes your lying. I simply require assistance in verifying as the links are not showing where the article says they should be.

Re: Registering and verifying as a seller

Where are you coming up with selling a 10K item for a $500? That reads that you have $ selling limits which new sellers often have.

What I said was new sellers can have selling limits and that to increase those limits it takes several months of constant selling and good service before those limits can be increased and also said, that new sellers should start by selling lower cost items before selling in those higher price ranges.

Have you added your checking account in your account wallet to receive payments?

What account do you expect to see the micro deposits?

Open the drop down by your name in the header, then open Account Settings. When that window opens, go through the list under Selling and make sure everything is correct. When that is done, open Payments and add the checking account you are going to use to receive payments if you have not done so. That is where the micro deposits will go to.

Have you tried listing an item and did you receive any notices when you tried?

@mente_jare it doesn't always state everything but that's the way it it. You can't just walk in here and list $10,000 worth of stuff and sell it until the site is 'secure with you as a seller'. After all, you could just list, collect the $$ and run off. That is the way the system is. You must sell within your limits.

Sorry, but Ebay isn't the place for a new seller to sell expensive items like that, unless you want to give them away.

Have A Great Day.

Knowing how bad scammers are, no way I would sell it anywhere online.

Re: Registering and verifying as a seller

I don't have anything worth that little in value and I don't feel like giving my collection away for nothing. Is there a way I can contact eBay support directly about this?

Should add, once you have set up for receiving payments you should receive message from eBay to verify receiving the micro deposits.

Re: Registering and verifying as a seller

I was simply stating that selling items for thousands less than what they are worth is unfeasible. Thank you for your time though, I will review my account and add my checking information if I have not yet thank you.

@mente_jare

There is nobody at any level of Customer Service on this site that will or can change what I stated.

If you don't have anything 'little value', this isn't the place for you.

Besides, seems you know nothing about how scammers work, but they would be all over you. Buy your things, open returns and ship you back a rock, send you fake Paypal receipts showing they paid and where to ship it, sending you messages having you send things to 'them' although that 'them' isn't even who bought it and you will just fall in line..... and you will be out 10's of $1000's.

You need to 'earn' your way up selling high dollar items. Period.

Re: Registering and verifying as a seller

It makes no sense, how am I or anyone else able to open a reputable gem shop on eBay? Am I truly expected to sell highly valuable gems for little to nothing in order to start up? That is outrageous and unscrupulous.

@mente_jare No; you are expected to sell something else and much lower dollars until you build yourself up.

How is a seller supposed to 'open a High End Watch Shop, High End Hand Bag Shop etc.' on Ebay?? Start by selling Timex and $20 Kohls handbags.  A 'thief' doesn't have the patience for that.

That's how.

Re: Registering and verifying as a seller

No one is telling you to sell expensive things for cheap.

Everyone is telling you find cheaper things to sell to build your reputation and experience.

EBay doesn't let you start with expensive things so that 1. you don't cheat eBay and 2. someone doesn't cheat you. It would sting less to get cheated out of a $50 item instead of a $10,000 item.
