Did you mean:

partial refund

Hi, I purchased a piece of jewellry but the chain was in a knot on recieving it and broke when I tried to undo the knot. I like the item and want to keep it and asked for a partial refund to fix it. It came as a pendant set. Seller refuses and ebay says I need to return it despite chat about partial refund being ok. do I just close the case?

Re: partial refund

Hi @emac7142

Buyers currently aren't allowed to request partial refunds for any reason ... so if the seller is no longer open to a partial refund, you will need to return it if you want money back.  Closing the case will mean that you get to keep the item in its current condition without compensation.   You won't be able to reopen the case with eBay.

Re: partial refund

You have 2 choices…

If you want a refund, return the item.

If you want to keep the item, close the return.

If you want to keep the item and no refund then close the return
If you want a refund you have to return the item

Re: partial refund

Sounds like you caused the damage.  Either return for a refund or keep it.   Take care before you choose, once you close the case it can't be reopened.

@emac7142

I’m afraid that eBay agents do not always provide accurate information.   ☹️
