Too early to start a return ticket

Dear All,

Has anyone encountered a “ It is too early to start a return ticket “ 

this has been a major problem with me trying to get the money back guarantee from eBay. 
seller sent me the wrong item and when I tried to return the item within the 30 days allowed by eBay they said it is too early to send the item back. Now I am out over 500 dollars. 

just curious if anyone in the community has come across this.

Have never ever experienced that message, but have only had to return 1-2 items.

Did you locate the item in your Purchase History and then click on "return"?

What reason did you give for wanting to return?

As far as I know, any item is eligible to be returned immediately after you receive it.

You HAVE received it, right?

Even though seller sent me the wrong item and I tried to return the item, I have to ask: You HAVE received it, right? And did you read the eBay Money Back Guarantee for buyers?

Does the item (tracking) show it was delivered?

What reason are you using for the return (exact reason chosen)?

Dear,

 

I received 2 items that were supposed to fit my jeep. After paying a mechanic to replace the old with the new he said these do not fit your vehicle.

That is when I tried to return the items to eBay and received the too early to return message.

Again, to the best of my knowledge, a buyer can open an item not as described case one moment after he receives the merchandise.

So, when did you receive it, and when did you open the item not as described case?

You DID open the item not as described case, right?

If your mechanic had time to determine that it was the wrong part for your vehicle, would assume that it's been at least 24 hours or more since the item was received, and thus it should be eligible for having an item not as described case.  

PS: Not exactly sure why you partially quoted my previous response.

Yes I received the items but the items did not fit my vehicle  The seller's description was not correct.

Did you choose "Does not fit" as a the reason?

If seller doesnt allow returns then what you did it called a remorse and those do not have to be accepted.

What you need to choose is Not as described

This is a posting/buying ID

Dear 

I did not get a chance to even fill out a return. As mentioned when I tried to return I received that message. 
The main problem was that those parts as described by the seller were incorrect. The seller said they would fit my vehicle but when I tried to install them on my vehicle they did not fit. 
seems eBay is siding with the seller for who knows why!

I am sick and tired and throwing in the towel now because eBay refuses to look at the evidence that I tried to return the items before the 30 days.  There is a screen shot and also a ticket number in the right hand corner of the screen shot that they can easily track but won’t. 
crazy.

Actually, I haven't even heard that buyers receive that message.  It's not unusual for buyers to open a 'return request' by mistake (when they haven't received the item yet) ... so it doesn't seem like eBay pays attention to whether  or not the item has been received.

 

If you've already passed the deadline for filing a return request with eBay ... I would try filing an 'item not as described' claim with either PayPal or your credit card company.  You may have to pay the return shipping ... so I hope it's a smaller auto part.

Thanks everyone for your concern I have splice in that at least. 

 Very disappointed in eBay not getting back to me and explaining to me what went wrong with there system. 

I just turned 70 and I can’t go on fighting eBay.  The seller made the mistake but eBay should have taken over from there. 

I have not checked but the seller is probably advertising incorrectly still.
