Hello all,
I recently bought three radio holder for a Motorola XTS2500 radio. The seller described them as being for that radio. When I received the radio holders they did not fit and they smelled like mold. The leather was super hard as if they got wet and dried. Maybe that’s why they smelled. They denied my return request because I said the holders didn’t fit the radio as described in their posting. eBay is telling me that they can’t help with the money back guarantee because the reason for the return was doesn’t fit.
can anyone help me?

File a chargeback for Goods Defective or Not As Described with your card issuer.
The return policy is now void @surdiant and the seller will pay for return shipping.

When you selected Didn't Fit, that's considered a remorse return and if the seller has a no return policy, they can deny a remorse return.
You should have selected the Item Wasn't As Described for the reason for the return.
If you paid using Pay Pal, they give you 180 days to open a case, but be sure and open the correct one.
If you didn't use Pay Pal, you can open a case with your credit card.

Thank you so very much. I’ve never had this issue on eBay before. I used PayPal to buy it. Do you now if they follow those policies?

For PayPal, first activate your Return Shipping on Us privilege here to help with the return postage.
Then open a "Significantly Not As Described" dispute at PayPal here. Next, at the bottom of the page, click Escalate to PayPal.
When you're instructed to return the item, get the free shipping label from PayPal, or pay for the label WITH TRACKING yourself. PayPal will issue your full refund when the return is delivered back.

Since you used PayPal to purchase it. Yes you are covered. I saw this list that describes what is covered
So in your case, you received an item not as described. You have 180 days from purchasing to file a claim. I would open one ASAP.

The problem is that you are a buyer who is legitimately trying to return something for a valid reason and the inflexible decision tree does not account for that.
Inversely, a habitual criminal abusing the buyer returns process would have adapted through trial & error how to exploit the system to exact a refund while returning a box full of used kitty litter.
