Scam shipment

I'm at a loss.

Purchased ~$700 worth of sports cards on ebay with a ebay return guarantee if claim filed within 3 days. Well I got sent a box of cook books. When I filed with ebay I was denied because sports cards are 3 days instead of 30 to file a claim. HELLO, I filed the claim the same day the item was delivered!

Of course the appeal was denied because t was told I didn't file the claim within 3 days, when I filed the claim the same day as delivery....what do I do? Ebay isn't following it's own procedures. 😕

File a claim with the credit card you used to purchase these items.

@miteycasey

This sounds like an issue that can be handled easily by one of eBay's social media accounts (eBay website help is, ironically, worthless).

I use Facebook/eBay... send a message, validate your account info, and they should be able to help you.

What kind of claim did you file?

So buyers of sports cards have only 3 DAYS to open an item not as described case instead of the usual 30 days per the Money Back Guarantee? Why? And are there any other categories where a buyer has only 3 days to open an item not as described case?

I believe it is due to the volatility of the sports cards market.

If a 30 day policy was used (in the past) buyers could return cards that perhaps failed a grading or didn't grade as high as they thought or perhaps the card drops in value over the course of a few weeks then the buyer tries to return.  Kind of like a Brett Farve card.  (However it is spelled).

That is my kindergarten understanding. Someone who actually sells cards will have a better answer.

That sounds like it reached the dollar level for fraud - you might want to contact the Post Office Police after contacting your credit card.  Seriously.

 And lots of negative feedback.

If you paid by credit card, contact your card company. If not, then the payment service you used.

I was looking at some sports cards in where you made a purchase...

I don't know what exactly you purchased...but I see the words 'Final sale...no returns' per eBay on some of your sellers.

Thank you for your reply.  So that reasoning only applies to sports cards? Makes it somewhat risky to buy them here then, right?

If the seller doesn’t offer a return policy, buyers will be able to request a return no later than three calendar days after delivery.  Currently, buyers can wait as long as 30 days to return an item.  That’s created a fairly sizeable window for buyers who often purchase a card at the top of the market and then watch it fall in the ensuing days.  Frustrated sellers have asked eBay to amend its policy to prevent buyers from taking advantage of the current rules on refunds.
