Trying to figure out eBay's policy on covering drones? Have a seller who has no history to verify and they are selling a drone I want to buy.
Looked up eBay's policies on refunds for drones - as many companies consider a drone - an aircraft. Per eBay's policy on auto's / aircraft / etc - I find nothing about drones. Seller says it's a new item in original box - not opened, but with no seller history to verify - concerned if it is a possible scam- how do I get my money back? I'd be using the eBay payment system, so that helps possibly cover the refund should it be needed, but want to make sure before I finish the purchase.
Sadly, eBay has no way of contacting a real person to verify if my purchase is covered 100%.

With all due respect I think you are answering your own question about the level of risk here. That said, why wouldn't the Ebay guarantee be in place if this didn't function correctly? Is the money you might save worth the amount of possible hassle/lack of warranty etc?

I suggest you not buy high value items from unproven sellers. eBay covers you for 30 days from delivery. There is no factory warranty on most items sold on eBay. Mail order is not best for all types of purchases.

In what category is this drone listed on eBay?

Virtually everything tangible you buy is covered by eBay's 30 day MBG. That includes drones.
Just make sure it's in the correct category and the listing doesn't say Coverage: not covered by eBay purchase protection programs. Lately scammers are deliberately listing items in Special Services category which won't allow you to open a case if there's a problem.
