Refund buyer

Hi

Need some feedback and help.

Had an item that didn't make it to the seller, it is stuck in a hub somewhere, purchased the shipping label through ebay, the item value is higher than $100.  Buyer requested a refund which I am ok with, I have been going above and beyond trying to find this package. The buyer was refunded the total amount, ebay took ALL of the money from my account, including the fees ebay collected.  I am out the item, out being paid and have paid the fees on top of all this.  Is this legal??

Yes, it's legal.  

But let's focus on your item.  Was the item insured?

Have you filed a missing mail report with USPS?

Since you agreed to this when you signed up for ebay it is legal and normal.

If ebay kept your fees you didn't respond to the return in time and got yourself a ding for your troubles.
