Please help with return. Can't add tracking number.

Hi all,

I sent a return back to a seller with the shipping label that eBay provided. I haven't been able to add the tracking number, because when I plug it in it says it's not recognized. The package has been delivered several days ago, and eBay is still asking me to ship the package back. I tried again to add the tracking number. This time I added two zeros and it got accepted. But it's not a valid tracking number and will never show that the package has been delivered because when I check on the USPS site it says status unavailable. There doesn't seem to be a way to contact eBay. Please help!!

If you now have the option to amend the wrong tracking number @c0ffeecup add

420  +  seller's 5-digit zip code  +  actual tracking number

and check that combined number at the USPS site first, then amend your tracking number.

I actually just checked the status of the return, and it has updated to say it's been delivered. No refund yet, though. The package was delivered on July 2nd. Your method is actually trackable on USPS, but mine with the 00 isn't. I should be okay without having to amend the tracking number, right? Once again, thanks so much.

You're welcome! Tuesday and today were the 2 business days which the seller gets to refund for your return.

If the seller hasn't voluntarily refunded by midnight Pacific time, eBay policy says that eBay might refund on behalf of the seller. Otherwise you will see the option on your Return details page to ask eBay to step in, to get your refund.
