I started a return for an item after it was shipped, but before it went through any facilities. will the refund happen in a few days or do i have to wait till it arrives and then return it?

usually if theyve already bought the shipping label, they will send it and you have to wait til the item arrives and then you send it back and when they recieve it back you get your refund. but i think it just depends on the seller because you can issue a refund right away being a seller but we usually wait for our item back. hope that helps

You are not saying that, as a buyer, you opened a return case for an item you purchased, but haven't yet received, are you?

Tracking does not always show up so it's hard to say how far along it gotten. Since you filed a return, you will have to return it. Have you received a return label for it? What reason for return did you give?
Next time use your watch list and make sure you really want it before buying. You have cost the seller time and money.

I hope your return reason was one of the following.
Ordered by mistake
Found a better price
Changed my mind
All other reasons would be a clear indication of return abuse.
If the item is shipped you will have to wait until it arrives and return before you will be refunded. This is a return not a cancellation. Next time submit a cancellation request before it ships. eBay gives buyers the ability to submit an actual request within 60 minutes of purchase, after 60 minutes you will have to send a message. Sellers DO NOT have to approve your cancellation request, however, it's typically better to do so because they will typically end up with more costs later down the chain if they don't.

i put it as changed my mind, as i found a much better product for a very good price. I believe thats a valid reason.

So your return will be on hold until you get the item and the process depends on the sellers return policy.
If the seller offers free returns you will be provided with a shipping label.
If the seller offers returns with buyer pays return shipping, you will be responsible to purchase a label
If the seller offers 'No returns', the seller can deny your return.
Once the item is sent back to the seller, the seller has 2 business days to process your refund. If a refund hasn't been processed in 2 business days you can ask eBay to step in and help.

Alright, thank you.

Those particular reasons ARE those that are a clear indication of return abuse.
Perhaps you meant to say that you hoped their return reason was NOT one of the following?

"Changed my mind, found a better price " is not a valid reason for return.

Wait, what are you talking about ?
Found a better price is the return reason I always use lol.
Evidence is typically just taking a screen shot of Amazon.
These are also supported reasons for return by eBay.
Just because it's buyer remorse doesn't mean it's return abuse. You can't just say all buyer remorse is abuse lol.

What is the estimated delivery date that you're supposed to receive the item.
If you receive the item and can get it shipped back by the date Ebay gave you, you should be ok.
If the return case times out and closes before you receive the item, you'll be out of luck.

"Wait, what are you talking about ?

Too many remorse returns and the buyer will find he has lost the mbg.

Not a good start.

So why didn't you find a "much better product for a very good price" before committing as a contractual agreement the purchase of the first product? Moreover, why didn't you wait until you received the product so that you can negotiate the return of the product first. Not a valid reason until you can return the product.
