Buyer requested a refund. Without really thinking about it, I issued a refund without getting the item back, somewhat with the intent to let him keep the item because It was not worth enough money to warrant paying for a return label. However, Ive changed my mind. But in my returns section, it is labelled as a closed return, and nowhere do I see an option to purchase a return label, only to "get another label" like I was sending it to him and not the other way around. I dont want to contact Ebay support and run any risk of them labeling it in any derogatory way towards my account, since the customer has already left a positive review due to me quickly issueing a refund. Where can I get the return label, or do I have no other choice but to purchase one at full price from USPS directly?

When you signified your intent to let the buyer keep the item, and to issue a refund, eBay would've closed the case. And I cannot think of any way it can be reopened. Sorry.

Since you already refunded then it is up to buyer if they want to return it if you send label.
It will help the buyers case that you even told them to keep the item...sorry but you really have no recourse.

Buy one from pirateship.com and keep in mind there's no way to force the buyer to return it. When you refunded, the buyer received a message from eBay saying the return is closed and they don't have to ship anything back. Plus you advised the buyer yourself in those screenshots to keep the item.

I don't think you are able to go back once you closed the return. Personally, i think you should move on without putting any additional funds into the lens. It is basically worthless if it has scratches or dust that you cannot remove. Even if you think the buyer is making it up, i don't see how you are going to make your money back on it and your time would be better served listing something else. IMHO

So only reason Im inquiring about it anyway, is because the customer seems more intent on sending it back than I am. Thought I should add this for some context cuz I see some replies saying that it now depends on the customers willingness to send the item back

The item sold for under $30 total. Just tell the buyer to toss it. This isn’t worth another moment of your time! Surely you have more important things to do. 😊
