I guess I should rephrase this a little - how long does the buyer have to be granted a return? Here's an answer I found when I searched it here: "If they want a refund for buyer's remorse they should return it within 14 days". I really don't care what they should do. That's not an answer. I want to know when the system will no longer give them the option to return. There must be some limit to return an item. I don't want a customer to decide after 6 months they no longer want the item and they are allowed to return it. So, what's the actual answer.

How does a credit card company know that the item has been returned to the seller? So someone can buy something and then a month later do a chargeback? And the customer still has the item? I feel the only safe way - for the buyer and the seller - is to require ebay to handle the entire process: You want to return item? OK. Why? OK. Send item back to seller and when the seller receives it we will refund you.

Yes, I just got screwed by the 30 day Return. The buyer refused to pay the credit card company. The credit card company did A. charge back to eBay? And I got screwed for $1100 and did not even get the item back. Return policy means Nothing. In case all of the ebay sellers have not figured it out yet. The only thing that matters is that ebay gets their money.

I know what a charge back is dealt with them before. The question here is, What is the purpose of the thirty day return policy on ebay

Oh, you're mistaken grasshopper. EBay does have something to do with it because they take the funds out of your account. I would say eBay has something to do with it . **bleep**
