I had a package returned because it was damaged during shipment. I have it insured automatically through ups for $100. It was a $149.00 package. I keep getting a UPS error message:

Additionally, 3 times I've written to eBay about it, and even though I've explained myself, they continually think I'm trying to file a seller protection claim. Anyone have success filing a UPS claim? If so. how? Thanks.

Did you purchase the UPS Shipping thru eBay?

Yes, Shipping labeled purchased through eBay.

Hi @chasearooauctions . Double-check you're using the correct tracking number. The one posted above is not yielding any results on UPS. How long ago did you purchase that label?
The process for filing claims on UPS labels purchased through eBay is specific. Follow the instructions here:
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipcover/shipping-insurance-shipcover?id=4643#section3
You can also refer to this handy step-by-step guide:

If you're still having problems after that, come back and let us know. There have been some reports the past few months with sellers running into errors filing UPS claims.

Thank you for your reply. The tracking number above shows results. The package was just delivered on September 19th, 2024. The buyer decided to wait almost a month to let me know of the damage. I'm still getting the same error message after working through your link.

Yeah, it's tracking fine on parcelsapp.com - don't know why it's not tracking on ups.com - that happens sometimes.
If you're still running into errors after following my links above, that means the unfortunate tech error where UPS is preventing sellers from filing claims is still happening. I started seeing reports pop up a couple months ago.
As of right now I don't know of any workarounds, and if you contact eBay customer support they'll tell you to follow the same instructions for filing with UPS as I posted above. You need to file a claim within 60 days of delivery which means you only have 2 weeks left.
If I think of with any other suggestions I'll come back to let you know.
Just to confirm, you're only filing a claim for the included $100 and not for the actual sale amount of $149, correct?
And this is a straight up UPS service like UPS Ground and not a dual-carrier service like UPS Ground Saver (SurePost)?

Yes on the $100 and UPS ground, purchase through eBay ship labels.
