Hi guys.
I purchased Van's van gogh edition here on ebay and it went through the "authenticity guarantee" program.
Once it arrived I emidiatly noticed it was a counterfeit and not even an high quality one .
When asking for a refund I emidiatly received a message that authenticity guarantee products aren't eligible for "money back guarantee". I added photos of the product received and even showed how it doesn't match the photo on the purchase page, and also dosen't match the description since it arrived with no box.
So I filed an appeal and once again ebay dicided I received the right product and the case is closed and done. they never asked for more information or anything. I have the original shoe as well the entire collection in fact, the counterfeit I received is nothing like that! shape, weight, color, print, tags .. everything is clearly wrong
I feel absolutely disgusted by ebay's customer service by the way they take advantage of consumers they are aiming to attract by this authenticity program.
Spent way too much time on this case and lost what is for me a serious amount of money.
And I would like to ask what are my options if anyone have any ideas
Greatly appreciated.

This would be better:
"You should immediately file a chargeback with your issuing bank".

Items that go through Authentication programmer can not be returned for reason "Does not seem authentic" as this would defeat the objective of this programme and challenging this programme is bound to lead to failure.
Your post does not state that you contacted seller asking to return the item for any remorse reason like
" Does not fit " Just did not like it or "Changed my mind".
Above option of return may not be available to you as you have made a charge back claim with your credit card issuer and it is possible that case fails as you have received the item and best possible outcome for you is that you are allowed to return the item back to seller using a tracked& signed postal service that you pay for and you receive a refund when item is confirmed delivered to seller.
If and when you are asked to send the item back I would recommend that you take a copy of label attached to the package that clearly shows sellers address and tracking number and you send this to your seller on eBay as evidence that item is sent to correct address and if allowed upload this on your chargeback case.
I believe chargeback cases can have an impact on users as card issuer keeps a record of such cases and this facility to make chargeback cases can be withdrawn at discretion of card issuer and therefore should only be used as an absolute last resort.

As a collector have you received "Fake" items in the past from eBay sellers?
If Yes then how did that work out for you?
Which country were these items shipped from?
This is just for my information to see how widespread is this problem of counterfeit goods.

I had no problem retunring a watch to the program
I paid 2300 for an 40`s watch with no size listed, asked the buyer he said 35mm fullsize
I was sent a mid size 32mm......huge difference in prices................midsize is the kiss of death for watches.
I called in and had a case opend I said do NOT put down wrong size but she made sure it was a forced return
descriptions with no measurements are sort of open ended.I was lied to by the seller about the size in a ASQ message
you should call and ask to speak to ebay authenticate...............its your right as an ebayer

eBay is NOT a place to buy fine art
sorry this happened
I suggest you do not buy fine art listed on eBay again

Recently saw a seller report that they bought shoes through this program and went to resell them the same way and they were denied being authentic...so I'd say the program has some issues

counterfeit goods are very wide spread on ebay and ebay knows so, hence the reason they made some big changes to attract consumers and the authenticity guarantee is a major one. Apparently the program has issues (I checked reddit) but it seems to me like it is actually a complete fraud. it is sort of understandable making a mistake with a super copy (high quality 1-1 copy) but making a mistake with a product that is nothing like the original and clearly dosen't match the photos on the listing page is a different story.
The product was shipped from a U.S seller to a U.S address

Counterfeiting is at an industrial scale worth billions of $.
I have worked with and have supplied brands including New Balance and am very familiar with this problem.
World renown brands have been grappling with and to dater have failed to curb this criminal activity.
I question the wisdom of eBay's Authentication programme as in my experience and opinion these authenticators can not possibly guarantee that 100% of the time their finding are correct and from what I have seen on this forum there are numerous problems attributed to this service.
I am disappointed for you as you did not get what you purchased and depending on costs it may or may not be worthwhile in paying postage cost of returning an item from Israel to USA.
Thank you for advising that seller of this counterfeit item is located in USA.
Sadly it appears that like many other countries USA authorities are also failing to stop this criminal activity in their own backyard.
