I just sold an "empty case" for a video game. And the buyer now wants to return it for this reason:

If you accept returns, buyer can return for any/no reason.
Your next step is to refund the buyer when it's returned.

You set the return policy, now you have to follow it.
Auto accepted because your policy is to accept returns.
Buyer pays return shipping.
You can refund just the item price when you get the item back.
Top rated, accepting returns.................. if you get back something different than what you sent you can deduct up to 50% to cover lost value.

Well you did have 30 day returns set. Refund minus shipping.
The video game category is horrible IMHO.

It's essential to understand the return policy of the platform you're using (EB). Some platforms have more lenient return policies, allowing buyers to return items even if there's nothing wrong with them.
To avoid similar situations in the future, consider updating your product listings to make it clearer what the item includes and any conditions around returns. Additionally, reviewing and potentially updating your return policy might help prevent unwanted returns.

You don't have to accept or pay for the return.
You do have to REFUND the complaining buyer.
Just give the whiner his pennies back.
It's not worth your time (and time is money) to get it back, never mind the cost of return shipping.
The minimum wage here is 29c a minute.
How much money have you wasted fussing about this.
It's business , not personal.
And the customer is an entitled whiney dimwitted fnard.

YOU chose to accept returns .
This is a screenshot directly from your listing.
I would certainly hope that the other sites you mention would make you adhere to what YOU agreed to do.
Otherwise it woudl be false advertising on your part.
