Concerning Returns. Is there any reason to even bothering to dispute them?

I had a return on Friday. The most ridiculous one yet. A lady opened a return saying my Coldwater Creek pants didn't have spandex in them. Pic#4 clearly showed a pic of the tag showing 4% Spandex in the pants. BTW I had No Returns on this listing. So I called Ebay that day and asked if there was anyway to go ahead an just close the return knowing that probably wasn't going to happen. They told me that I had to wait until 3 business days. They told me to call back on Wednesday. Well I guess you know where this is going. I go the SR# of of the call for evidence of what they told me do. I messaged the woman politely and told her to check pic#4 and see that the tag was displaying the Spandex clearly on the pants. She admitted that the tag said it,but still said the "Seller" was misrepresenting the pants and that it wasn't as described because she just wanted to return them and some other very confusing stuff I couldn't figure out. I think she thought Coldwater was a person and Creek was his last name. Who knows. Anyway,I got up Wednesday morning  you probably know what happened. The returned already closed in the Buyer's favor at 1:30am that day. Know way I could have called Ebay any sooner or done anything to prevent it because I had to wait 3 working days. Come to find out Ebay has a Buyer Protection and even though I had No Returns on this listing and my item WAS  as described perfectly the lady won the Return. You know I was mad because it was the most ridiculous return I have even heard of.  Luckily I got an agent to file an appeal, but it still didn't work. The Buyer is always right on Ebay. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me when I had a clear case of Buyer's Remorse and the Buyer wins a case.  So do we even bother to dispute a return or just give them their money back and forget about it?😓

I did reach Escalations in the American Call Center later tonight and she actually overturned the decision. It happens sometimes. I got my money back. So happy.

I've received such a courtesy credit before, and appreciated it... even knowing that some of it was money I'd added to the pool as a seller here. Will they be able to keep the "Cases closed without seller resolution" off of your Dashboard? 🤞

Re: Concerning Returns. Is there any reason to even bothering to dispute them?

I wish I could, but my prices are cut so low I am starving. Literally. I do know how to shop now and keep my cost down, but if it wasn't for that I would be in trouble. I go to the Goodwill Outlets in my area. I don't spend hardly any cost on my merchandise. I learned that from my 8 years of working in the Pawn Shop business. How to Buy and Sell and make a profit. So much experience to use for my Ebay. Just hard times right now and we have to adjust everything for what we are going thru. I was on the Thrifting site on FB and everyone was complaining about their sales. Ebay is the same. It has always about finding the hard to find items. If you can find them you can make the sales.

She apparentely wanted it when she purchased it. I don't understand your point?

To be honest I don't even think she would understand anything in this forum. If you read her reply message it was so bizzare I really thought she was on drugs. Ebay agreed with me about the sanity of the Buyer. Anyone would think that Coldwater Creek was a person who was a Seller on Ebay doesn't have all their marbles. If she is on the Community I would welcome her comments. If you make a stance on something you have to be willing to back it up. Maybe I used the wrong word. It was the only word I could think of at the moment. Sorry.

You can always try to clarify something the buyer perhaps misunderstood and if that’s  case they might just close the return with that kind of customer service, so always try that. But, Never fight a return here if that does not work well.

She might have wanted it when she bought them, but not after she got them.

I wouldn't buy clothes from a seller that doesn't accept returns.

I want to know that if I'm not happy with the item, I could return it.

Have a great day.

Re: Concerning Returns. Is there any reason to even bothering to dispute them?

Well, you are super lucky or sell so low nobody wants to bother.

80% of people don't read descriptions

80% of people don't 'measure' themselves prior to purchasing

12% is the industry standard for B&M Clothing stores- so again, you must be a 'beyond' superstar.

Re: Concerning Returns. Is there any reason to even bothering to dispute them?

Well,as I stated in the end result of this Return. It is worth fighting for. I have won all the returns I have fought for. My motto actually is if your truly right the fight for the return. Ebay will eventually get your back. I have won all of them. Every single one. It took awhile sometimes, but I always win in the end. Just don't give up. A $24 sale is always worth fighting for in my opinion in these hard times.  Hey it's like 5 gallons of gas! 😂

That is called BUYER'S REMORSE. If you have been on Ebay awhile your quite aware of this terminology. It is used quite often by Sellers.

Re: Concerning Returns. Is there any reason to even bothering to dispute them?

"Sell so low" What?? Are you hiding behind a computer screen to make that remark? Truly you are kidding. Are you so low that you would even make a remark like that. Let me tell you something. Whenever you want to put up your sales figures on here against mine any day of the week I am willing to challenge your you stats by Number of sales per 30 day period,$ per Transaction, Number of Returns in a given month, and Number of % above last year's goal. Of course also your feedback score.  Now if you can't do it then I would advise you to keep quiet.

P.S. Of course we are talking about CLOTHING/FASHION/SHOES,ETC SALES ONLY,not selling polybags or cell phone covers.

Re: Concerning Returns. Is there any reason to even bothering to dispute them?

In my experience there isn't any point in disputing a buyer's return claim.  Stating that you don't take returns is meaningless on eBay. Just accept the return and get your item back.  Some buyers do lie  and it's just too hard to prove otherwise. Not accepting a return will cause more trouble for the seller as your account gets dinged.  A seller can report buyers for filing a false claim and you can get at least up to six dollars of the return shipping fee back.  I had a buyer open a return claim for not as described stating that my item wasn't new.  However it was listed as preowned.  So I accepted the return and reported the buyer so that I was refunded  $6.00 for the return shipping label, and the return wasn't counted in my seller metrics.
