I sold an item on Feb 5th 2022. but could not ship so i tried to cancel the sell, but ebay would not allow it.
I tried to refund the buyer but ebay said the funds were on hold and that i needed to add payment options.
So the buyer opened a dispute and i accepted it.
After i did that the refund option disappeared. i can't do anything now but wait on ebay.
I have no funding sources listed with ebay and i refuse to add my checking account number.
So His payment, minus the fee and taxes, is sitting locked in my ebay account.
Which brings us to the main question.
About when can the buyer expect to receive his refund from the dispute that he filed and i accepted early in February?
Additionally i might ask... Will my ebay balance will go back to 0 after ebay pays his refund?

Do you have the item back? Did you send a label? Do you want the item back?
If you had a 30 day return policy on venue, refund will be sent to Buyer 2 business days after tracking shows item delivered. If you had No Returns, Buyer will get a refund immediately.
If you didn't send the item, eBay will take care it for you and your account will get dinged.

I'm not sure what type of dispute they opened but it would have closed by now so the buyer is not suddenly going to get refunded through eBay. It sounds like you never set up a way to receive payment on ebay with Managed Payments so you don't have a way to receive payment and/or refund. As long as you refuse to set up a checking account with ebay there is no way for this to be fixed. I don't understand why ebay would have let you list if you didn't already have an MP account set up but it does sound as if that's what they did.
If I were the buyer, I would open a payment dispute with my payment provider so that I could refunded. I'm not certain how that would affect your ebay account.

They didn't ship the item and apparently ebay has not taken care of it yet even though it happened in February. If the seller does not have an MP account, I don't know how they would settle it.

No, your account will not go back to zero, because you will still owe eBay the fees for the transaction.
If you refunded voluntarily, then all but the $0.30 fixed FVF would be refunded, and your account would be negative $0.30. If you didn't refund voluntarily, then you don't get the credit for any of the fees, and your account will be negative for the full amount of the fees.
It hasn't changed since February when you asked about it before.

So you purposely chose to violate ebay policy and procedures and wrongfully listed an item on their site?
You should have just shipped the item as required. I can't imagine it being a problem that you "could not ship".
Also , it would have went much better for you had you entered in the info ebay requested. It was info you agreed to give ebay and you caused this whole mess.
If I were you I would add the payment info requested here. This is what was needed back in Feb.

I am reading:
'So His payment, minus the fee and taxes, is sitting locked in my ebay account. '
So eventually, eBay will payoff the Buyer and penalize the Seller for not providing a bank account. eBay Software wants a bank account number to process this return. eBay wants to take insertion fee off first. Big Guy needs to make its money!

I asked this question earlier but i made it too complicated for some to understand. i apologize .
I'll try to make it simpler.
A dispute was filed by a buyer and accepted by the seller on Feb 5th 2022, almost 60 days ago.
The current state of the dispute is this -> "You've accepted the dispute. It will be closed once the dispute process is complete."
WHEN can the buyer expect to receive his dispute settlement?

Ironically.. I could of refunded the buyer 45 days ago if he had not opened a dispute. now all refund and cancellation options are disabled.

As you explained on the other post, eBay is asking for your bank account. They need to get paid 30 Cent insertion fee for the process to be completed.

The buyer has probably already been refunded by eBay. They do it automatically when the seller doesn't cooperate.
The timeline is, the seller has up to 3 days to respond when a case is opened, then when/if the case is accepted (or decided in the buyer's favor), the seller has up to 2 days to issue a refund. If they don't, then eBay does it and collects from the seller whatever they owe.

At this point, the only thing that would be keeping the case open would be the fees that you owe to eBay. From what you said back in February, that would be $90.93.

I read somewhere. That at the end of 90 days a dispute settlement should be completed.

So you think eBay has already reimbursed the buyer??
If so whose money is sitting in my account?? that ebay already took the fees out of??

You can't expect to get helpful answers when you deliberately withheld information that was obviously crucial to the situation.

Don't worry about it, @accountdeieted . That was a valid prediction.
Why isn't your Buyer going ballistics? Do you want to delete your account?
Call eBay, have them put the charge on your CC, if you don't want to give them your Bank Account number. You don't want to owe people money. Don't ruin your credit score.
