Buyers Abusing Not as Described Returns

I do not have a return policy so the buyer filed a not as described claim. Her reason was that the item was not cream colored as she thought and was darker. She's right, it Is darker because it's Not cream, it's Beige and was advertised as Beige. Her monitor apparently showed a lighter color, but throughout my listing it says beige and I also have a monitor color disclosure in my policy. The buyer filed the not as described claim because the color was not what she wanted. The color cream was never mentioned so obviously she didn't read the listing with the word Beige described several times. We agreed to the return the dress at 70% refund even though I do not have a return policy. That option is not offered by eBay, so the buyer emailed her agreement to close the claim and conclude her return with me. After that I was ghosted by the buyer. I have sent her 6 emails on how to close the claim but she hasn't done so to date. EBay keeps emailing me to respond to the buyer so they obviously don't see all the correspondence between us as a response. Also the several phone calls I've had with eBay apparently don't count either. I have kept eBay Rep names and conversation reference numbers with their promises to protect my account and not refund the buyer, but they lie and tell you they agree with you and will protect you and then do the opposite.  EBay refused to close the claim even though they could see the email from the buyer wanting to do so. I have been with eBay for 17 years so I already know what the outcome will be but I felt like venting because I'm sick and tired of eBay siding with Buyers all the time and not understanding that without Sellers there would be nothing for the Buyers to buy and no fees for eBay to collect! When will eBay learn to treat sellers with the respect we deserve...and dismiss the buyers who cheat? Amazon is looking better and better to me every day and I'm sure I'm not the only seller who thinks that!

Re: Buyers Abusing Not as Described Returns

When ebay sends you a "return notice" for a return opened by XYZ for the reason of 'SNAD' (Significantly Not as Described) you have 2 options:

1.) Approve the return and when item is returned, refund in full (seller pays return shipping with a SNAD return, no discussion about it)

2.) Simply refund in full (buyer/customer now does NOT have to mail back item)

Any 'side negotiations that you do with the buyer and the buyer agrees, the buyer needs to 'close' the return and then you send them via "Refund Buyer" whatever you agreed on. If buyer does NOT close return; see #1 and #2 above.

Again, no discussion; no negotiating with anyone (ebay, buyer, the neighbor)
