Buyer returned a Brand new Macbook Air $994.00 reason was they change their mind. I offered free returns. Ebay gave them the free return shipping label.
I shipped the item to Delaware but when I track the return shipping it was coming from California.
Buyer shipped the package back but to a different address!!! It was shipped to Staples Store which is 5 miles away from me. I contacted customer support and told them it seems the return label was tampered. The delivery confirmation shows it was shipped to a different address. I send it also to the buyer but no response. Ebay then closed the return and did not issue a refund to the buyer.
A few hours later.. the case was opened again and the refund was issued to the buyer. Reason is the buyer has proof the return was delivered.
I did an appeal and show them the proof it was delivered to the wrong address with the signature of Staples agent and who also wrote the address of Staples on the delivery confirmation.
The appeal was denied and closed.
I have contacted Ebay on Twitter and on facebook and they say its closed and they cant do anything about it.
Every time I call ebay I get a person from the philippines and they say they will help then an hour later I get an email that they side with the buyer.
I'm am lost.. I dont know how to get some one to see that the return label should be my address not Staples!
Please help!

Just a Follow up on this case,
They Ebay Team came back to me and they finally reviewed all the evidence I provided and they send me the full refund!
Speaking to a call center in the Philippines did not help as they only read what they see on their notes.
You have to contact an Ebay US customer service and get their name and keep following up on the case.

Have you tried to contact to the wrong receiver on Staples?

@normzsales That is a return address scam, with Free Returns you have the option to withhold 50% of the item price and all of the original shipping and are protected against less than positive Feedback. You can also Report the Buyer for abusing the return policy by not returning the item to you but using a different address they could easily get online by googling stores in your return address zip code. Often the Store's address is listed. This buyer has probably run this scam for a long time and until enough Sellers Report them it will continue. That Buyer is going to make money selling that item because they sure didn't return it to you.
You will be hard pressed to get Staples to help, I suspect the Buyer sent an empty box with no return address and when opened at the store they probably threw it in the trash.

From the Start.. I also knew it was a RETURN ADDRESS SCAM
The Buyer address is in Delaware, I google the address and I found out it was ship forward company.
When I tracked the return shipping the laptop was originated and shipped from California
The buyer's Ebay account is only one month old.. 4 feedbacks from $1 purchases on Ebay.
I told Ebay customer service this with my appeal but it seems they did not consider them.
I hoping I can get the copy of return label from USPS together with the proof of delivery it will show it was an intention to shipped it to Staples.
and Your right it could be an empty box! I will find out tomorrow...

At least we know for a fact that the staff in the Colombian call centers that eBay uses are ever in any way involved with any of these freight forwarding / return address scams. Those people have impeccable integrity, I tell you.

You can pursue this. You need to prove that they didn't return a MacBook. My suggestion is look at the way they shipped it. Was it a 6lb package or a first class envelope? Call the Staples store. When it is an outright mail fraud case like this Paypal will cover you. I had a guy in Bulgaria return me 3 cell phones in a flat rate DHL envelope that weighed 1oz before. Be persistent. Call at different times so maybe you can get a USA based agent. Good luck.

Hi,
Yes, I went to Staples and the kind Manager was able to get the envelope and it was empty. They buyer also photoshopped the Ebay shipping label and changed the address. The tracking number was photoshopped and was deleted on the label and its only showing the USPS barcode. I also went to the US Postal office and they provided me with a picture of the envelope that went through their sorting machine. I took all of these evidence and forward them to Ebay to Appeal my case. I have not heard from them yet.
Btw, the return address was from California and it shows the name and the address of the person scamming me. The laptop was shipped to Delaware. This people seem very organized and clever in beating the system. I was very lucky the Staples Manager went to the garbage and found the empty envelope. I just hope all these proof I sent would make me win this case.
I will keep you all updated.

You should be right, I get the calls from the Philippine call centers. Its so hard to get some one from the USA. Even if I call different times.. it so hard!
