What is the reason that buyer doesn’t use the label that was issued through Ebay and instead goes to pay it himself.
he told me this When I initiated my return and expecting a return label, the message I received was a label would be provided in eleven (11) business days. The delay in receiving the label would not have been prompt enough to have you receive the return item.
Disappointing that your return label was not provided immediately. The standard for E-Bay sellers is providing labels in one day; not the case here.
In processing my refund, please include the shipping cost I have incurred $16.10. Thank you.
I approved and issued label within seconds. I called Ebay and was told that what buyer said is false and that I don’t need to refund postage to buyer as I already paid for postage and buyer needs to call Ebay about postage. I don’t understand why would buyer lie and do shipping on his own.

When I approve a return which provides a shipping label, I am not charged for it unless the buyer uses it.

What was the "official" reason for the return?
The official reason for the return determines who pays for the return shipping.
Did you buy the return label through ebay?
When you do, ebay makes it possible for the buyer to print out the label immediately at your expense.
It sounds like the buyer bought a return shipping on his own.

There are many people out there that get confused easily. Your buyer was confused, computer illiterate, or just has a low I.Q. You should be able to cancel the label you provided and just go ahead and reimburse your confused buyer.

My question is not about determining who pays. In any case I pay return. I offer 30 days free returns for any reason.

That is what I wanted to do to refund buyer through paypla and cancel ebay label— which I have no option to do. So I called ebay and they told me not to refund and tell buyer to call them.
but i was thinking that this buyer was hurt before and had bad experinece with another return and so he made up some excuse. Bite it was new to me hearing Ebay telling me not to refund buyer postage.

I couldn’t cancel ebay label. When I buy ebay label I ma being told how much it was. Ebay rep said not to refund buyer and ask buyer to call Ebay to straighten stuff up. Maybe they want to reimburse buyer for confusion or so.

I think that it messes Ebay process and confuses automated system because of tracking numbers. Tracking number needs to be inserted manually so timing for refund works etc. I paid for his return through ebay less then what he quoted me.
he defintely acted very confused . My returns are approved automatically. So him saying he waited forever is not true — Ebay confirmed as I though that maybe Ebay glitched out.
