Buyer opened case "Missing parts" when missing parts are clearly described

Sold a electronic. My listing clearly says the item comes with no AC adapter (in two places: condition and item description). The smart guy contacted me and then went and opened a case as "Missing parts". Based on my long experience with eBay which in 99.9% of case takes buyer's side (no matter if they right or try to abuse buyer protection policy as in my case). I would assume the outcome of my case would be towards buyer?

you are correct.

Nothing you say or point out will make a hill of beans difference.

All you can do is either refund OR accept the return and refund once you have the item.

Honestly, eBay will refund them without question from your money.

First, I'd point that out.  Then ask them if they want to send it back.  I wouldn't offer a return, but I'd offer to take it back.  Then wait to see what they say.

Sadly, you can write NO AC ADAPTER across the entire background of your listing and pictures, but we cannot seem to get anyone to read it or comprehend.

I looked through your 'sold items' and do not see 1 item stating 'missing xyz' in the title. Although you probably put it in the description, many do not scroll to read beyond the title.

Heck, I get people buying parts for their 2011 Corvette, and in the Title it say 'Corvette C6 2005-2008 XYZ' right in the TITLE!. So I know some people can't even read a title.

Either way, if you sell an electronic item without the power cord, then it DOESN'T work and should state so in the Title.

It even worth when you shop from the app where it cuts titles. I do not have any issues accepting returns when buyer behaves as a buyer and not as a fraud although all of my listings have no return policy. We all humans and make mistakes

The app doesn't cut titles, but it does 'pick and choose' in the 'description' and a buyer has to click 'see full description' to see it correctly.

I know for my items, the description shows 1 line of paragraphs 2,5,8 leaving out many parts (until buyer clicks 'see full'- which probably many do not)

I had a case where a buyer made pictures using mirror to show eBay the stains on the jacket are on different side then pictures and highly intellectual eBay customer support took buyer's side

I have handled plenty of returns and all I can say is I give the same advice to everyone

just say yes to the return, that is what ebay wants you to do and its what the buyer wants you to do

return abuse is just a part of selling on ebay

I could get all worked up about it but I choose not to

@goldazar

Is it the scanner that you listed as used?

With it being listed as used, it's supposed to work as it was intended to and without an AC adapter, it won't work like it should.

Have a great day.

Not sure you know what you are talking about. Based on your assumption I should provide a car when I sell tires. Your "Vintage Avon Mail Jeep Extra Special Male Deep Woods After Shave Bottle" also cannot be sold empty as it listed as "After Shave Bottle"

To the contrary, it seems you actually are sure. Buyers will prevail if you list as used when the item is incomplete.

I will glad to list it as "incomplete" as soon as eBay add this feature. More than 50% of items on eBay can be considered as "incomplete". I assume not having user manual or original box would also be considered as "incomplete". Besides that, there is "Components Included" section which shows what is included.

Finally, it is buyer's responsibility to read listing description and eBay's responsibility to display it accurately

Not having a user manual or original box doesn't make the item unusable, like a missing AC adapter does.

It could have been listed for Parts or Repair and mention in the description that it works, just don't have the power cord.

Have a great day.

I will glad to accept your opinion ONLY after you explain me how selling "Vintage Avon Mail Jeep Extra Special Male Deep Woods After Shave Bottle" without the actual after shave is different.
