Hello ebay Community,
I need your opinion and advice about a case I am facing.
I sold a lot of 8 cameras on ebay. After that the buyer received them, he requested the return because some of them were damaged by "rain". I asked him to list the cameras damaged and the amount of the partial refund, but he insists that I should send him a full refund.
In meantime, I have discovered that the buyer is now reselling the same cameras with the same accessories I sent him, on his eBay account (listings were created just one day after he received the cameras), mentioning that all of them are tested and working, contrary to what he says in his return request.
I have no option to cancel the return request. And I have already contacted ebay support team, but I didn't get yet feedback about what I should do.
The deadline to take action on the return request is Today and I really don't know what to do...
Regards,

You provide a return label for all the watches and refund after return.Do not ask Ebay to step in, or they will immediately refund the buyer without having him return the watches. And you will receive a major defect to your account.

I see that you sold a lot of watches, not cameras and that the sale was in mid August.
The time for the buyer to open an item not as described case was 30 days so that has probably expired.
If the buyer opens an item not as described case, since it is a lot, he will have to return the entire lot.
Does he know that? Did you know that?

Thanks for your prompt feedback.
I am talking about two lots of 4 cameras sold on Sep 30, 2023 and received by the buyer on Oct 17 . and listed on his account on Oct 18. The return request received on the same day.
I have double checked only 1 camera is not listed.

Sorry -- still do not see any LOTS of cameras sold by you in that time frame, although there are several sales of single cameras around then.
There is a reason that determining whether or not you sold in lots is important. It will guide what you, as the seller, are able to do. If a buyer bought a single camera, he can open that NAD case, and will be refunded when the seller gets the camera returned. However, if it was more than one, and he opens that case, but states that only one camera was not as described, you can require that he return both or whatever # of cameras was included in the lot.
"I have double checked only 1 camera is not listed." What does that mean?
ETA: In case I have not been clear, a LOT is a listing which includes more than one item, usually of the same kind like two sweaters, or four board games. When you have multiple listings, each including only one item, that's not a LOT. If I am misunderstanding your issue, feel free to return and set me straight.

Hello,
Let me share with you the urls of the "Lots" sold (I don't know if I am allowed to):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/256237188145
https://www.ebay.com/itm/256237091383
The Buyer didn't specify which cameras are damaged. Despite the fact that I insisted he do it.
"I have double checked only 1 camera is not listed." I have checked his listings, I found 7 out of the 8 cameras that I sold to him.

If you want a chance at getting the cameras back before refunding, make sure that there is a prepaid return label available to the buyer and approve the return.
If you don't eBay will refund the buyer from your funds and allow them to keep the cameras.
That is your first move. After that, come back and let us know what has transpired.

If the buyer is re-selling the cameras on eBay...chances are you might get 2 empty boxes back.
And the shipping looks like it won't be cheap for you. But you got to refund the buyer giving him 2 return labels.
Don't think emails, phone calls or photos will help.
I am surprised he didn't even do a "partial refund" which most buyers would accept.
If the prepaid labels are not used you would not get charged for them....but if he uses them and returns nothing you are out shipping and the cameras. If the cameras are still on his account today being for sale its a stuff decision to make.

Thanks @12345jamesstamps @lakefor94 for your feedback.
I validated the return of the two lots. On the other hand, since I am not based in the US and I can't purchase a shipping label, I sent a message to the buyer asking him to merge all the cameras into a single package (as I did for him when he purchased them) , ship them and send me the shipping receipt with the amount so that I can reimburse it.
I will keep you informed of the outcome.

This is one of those difficult scam buyer cases where the seller might be better off to do a partial refund even though I absolutely HATE TO SEE THIS ON HERE BECAUSE it encourages people to keep doing it on here. Better to risk that than get sent back NOTHING in an empty box AND have to pay for that as well. DISGUSTING transaction.

Promising to reimburse him won't cut it. If you don't furnish a return label or eturn money up front by 3 business days the buyer can escalatec the case and say the seller isn't being responsible for return shipping as they haven't sent a label or money for the return label and eBay will refund in full and tell the buyer they don't have to return the items.

he actually escalated the case to ebay. Ebay asks me to either send them the shipping label or send them the shipping amount.
I contacted him asking him how much the return will cost him to send him the amount via Paypal, he replied:
"Not sure, wasnt able to send the package back due to the address and customs, etc
Not without a provided label. I tried explaining that to ebay and they didnt really understand what was going on. So they will issue a refund in a few days and it will all be good.
Sorry for the mess, ebay just doesnt have their international returns optimized."
He clearly wants to keep the cameras and get the full refund..
This case is going to drive me crazy 🙂
