Hi Guys,
I sold a Bape jacket on Ebay a week ago and the buyer requested a return (Stating that the item didn't fit) I didn't feel that was a good reason to return it. Eventually it was escalated to Ebay and they decided that I need to give a refund and the item would be returned to me. Yesterday the item arrived and it was packed poorly, and WAS NOT THE SAME ITEM I SOLD. I have contacted ebay's appeal team several times and they have not been helpful. Does anyone have any advice for me in the future,

Welcome to selling on eBay. No, there's not a whole lot you can do other than reporting the buyer for misusing the MBG policy.

How did a remorse return get escalated?

eBay has no idea what was sent or sent back. (or cares).
If the item returned was switched, it is mail fraud and theft. report it to the proper law enforcement.

Ebay didn't care I talked to several customer agents and all they gave me was the tracking number shows the item arrived and that's proof for us.... (YOU CAN PUT ANYTHING IN THE BOX)

You need to file mail fraud and a police report, then use those reports to appeal the case.
Report the buyer for abusing the MBG.

No, I mean why did you take it back?

This kind of reverse bait-and-switch is precisely why I do not accept returns. Having that notification on listings is a deterrent to unsavory characters. Several good pictures and detailed descriptions are not just a selling tool--they also provide deterrence and defense against such tactics. By not accepting returns a moderately lower selling price on some items should be expected. It's worth it in my book.

The no returns may be helpful when dealing with the average honest, run of the mill buyer, but no returns accepted in a listing is not a deterrent to scammers/unsavory characters that know how to work the system. Some of them may just take it as a challenge to teach you how it works in the scammers world.
I have "no returns accepted" in all my listings, but just there to keep the honest buyer honest, and perhaps make them read a bit before deciding on the purchase. If they walk away because of that, no harm, no foul.
As has been stated many, many, many, many times here on the boards, and likely elsewhere.............. no returns does not mean no refunds.

This is sad... I was telling my wife as we were on the way to Target today... can you imagine I buy something at a store and in the next month, bring something different back and getting a full refund on the original item? Or they give me a refund and tell me to keep the item?
We are both long time Ebay sellers and just roll with it, but no other business conducts business like this (that I know of). Of course, it's not their money Ebay is dealing with... it's the seller's money.
