Allstate Protection Plan Scam

I purchased a 2-year protection plan for an HP printer I bought. I never received either (fraudulent seller). I was finally able to get a refund on the printer, but eBay refuses to refund the $9.99 for the warranty. This is a major scam on the sellers part. He/she will not respond to messages and refused the return/refund on both. Is there any recourse? I am shocked eBay refuses to take action on such an obvious scam. And apparently, there is no way to contact a human to discuss this. Thank you.

Re: Allstate Protection Plan Scam

Thanks for help but not much help . Then why does ebay allow this on there platform , I think i'm going to cancel my account after 20 years and stick with Mac Bid, ebay not standing behind buyers that made them what they are today , so just lost a customer that has spent thousands, ugh

Re: Allstate Protection Plan Scam

Totally agree - why is eBay continuing to allow these people to sell on eBay? EBay should be held accountable as eBay has a name that people trust only to find they are allowing a seller to scam the people buying on eBay.   I had a similar issue 2 years ago with an eBay purchase and thought I'd give them another try. Obviously, that was my mistake - not likely to ever do it again - eBay and others allowing people to use them to scam people all should be help accountable as accomplices in such dealings - it wouldn't and couldn't be happening if eBay and others like eBay were not letting themself by used to promote such sellers.

Re: Allstate Protection Plan Scam

We paid $40 for the Allstate plan on eBay. It was never received, and now eBay protects the scammer and not us. We have contacted the seller umpteen times with no response. When we told eBay, we're told that it does not cover this form of purchase, contact the seller. When we tried to contact the seller and Allstate today, we are being stopped from further communications.

We're an eBay seller and customer for many years, with 100 % positive feedback. We deserve  help or a refund for this purchase

You gave them thew wrong email address.  They can't help you. Why not just log on to the wrong email address. Then you can cancel.

But the bigger problem is how easy is was for the seller to scam me.

It is nearly impossible for a seller to scam a buyer but the opposite is ebay's Achilles' heel

Re: Allstate Protection Plan Scam

I have never received warranty information from Allstateus for a Saker mini chainsaw I purchased. I'm happy with the chainsaw, but the warranty is a scam as far as I'm concerned. I sent them two messages asking about when my warranty information would arrive. I have received no answer. I even sent an E-mail to the Saker Company asking how long the warranty was that came with the chainsaw, but still no answer. Allstateus has a very poor FB rating. According to feedback, some people are getting their information sent through E-mail, but I've noticed on Internet messages that some who have filed a claim have trouble getting their claim accepted. I recommend to people not to obtain any warranty from Ebay as they do not back it up. From now on, I'm going to purchase items that need a warranty from a brick and mortar store. This way I can take the item to the place and deal with people direct. It does cost a little more, but you have peace of mind knowing that you don't have to deal with people who refuse to contact you.

Re: Allstate Protection Plan Scam

Contact the warranty company using contact info in messages they sent about your purchase.

They also put their number in the feedback they left for your warranty purchase:

"Thanks for buying a SquareTrade warranty. Call 877-WARRANTY if you need help!"

Re: Allstate Protection Plan Scam

Ebay gives you no choice about the seller of the warranty, which is linked to the listing of the item you are buying the warranty for : It is NOT the the same seller as the item you are buying the warranty for. There is no way to see the feedback score of the warranty seller on the listing page (unlike for the original item) and the warrenty listing just says "from Allstate" implying that Allstate is the seller.

Re: Allstate Protection Plan Scam

So this is most fustigating thing I've ever seen. SquadTreade or whatever their name is took many tries, but they actually processed the claim. They send me a virtual debit card as a refund, but the card gets declined everywhere. Furthermore this card has a customer service number to call, but it loops multiple recordings without anyone actually picking it up. If this is not a scam or fraud, I don't know what is!!! So many people having issues, I'm thinking perhaps we should start class action lawsuit!!!

Re: Allstate Protection Plan Scam

This a form of "bait and switch." It lures the buyer to purchase and then is not responsive by Allstate in Coverage.

Yet, eBay claims they can’t refund it because only the seller can. Interesting…

The seller of the warranty is the company that sold it to you, not the eBay seller.

This is a posting/buying ID

My seller ID has over 50,000 feedbacks
