The similar items is causing some return situations.
Also am getting emails about items that I viewed. I view quite a few in the process of pricing and availability. I don't want my mailbox to fill up. Anyway to stop these?
Requests for partial refunds are getting frequent on non-issues. Great product in excellent condition delivered with care in a speedy manor. Seems that some of this also due to similar items. Seeing sellers asked to match prices after the fact in a few instances in discussion. CS is not backing sellers on this issue and we are being forced to pay return shipping when customer files as snad instead of found for less to avoid shipping costs. Is there a viable solutions to ones caused by see similar and also for buyers that are just requesting partial refunds because they can? (Again on non-issues)
Thankfully I have only had this a few times in last year but am seeing it frequently in conversations with other sellers.

A few thoughts and questions about the new Sales Event + Markdown:
1. The set-up process gives me the option of choosing a picture to promote the sale. The picture only shows up in one place, which is the page that lists all the promos a seller is running. I am currently running only one promo. The photo on the page is a tiny thumbnail size. Is this a glitch, or is that by design? If it is a glitch, can we get that fixed? (Not trying to plug my store, but here's a link to that page, so you can see what I'm talking about):
https://www.ebay.com/sme/my-cottage-books-and-antiques/offers.html?_trksid=p2047675.m3793
2. The only evidence on my store home page that I'm running a sale is the little "On Sale" tab above my listings. I'd like to see something a little more attention-grabbing than that. Any chance the team could provide something more?
3. Once the sale event has started, I can see no way to add items to the sale during the course of the sale. Am I missing something? I thought we used to be able to do that with the old Markdown Manager?
4. ebay recommends using Sales Event along with Promoted Listings. Good idea. One thing I noticed in the Promoted Listings flow...if an item has been marked down, it shows the marked down price, but no strike through to indicate that it has been marked down. It would be nice if ebay showed me the strike through, so I knew for sure that an item was already marked down. (I might not want to both mark it down AND increase my FVF through Promoted Listing). In fact, it would also be nice if ebay created a filter in PL so that I could exclude or include all Sales Event items with one click. Any chance the team would consider that?
Hi @my-cottage-books-and-antiques - here's what I've got for you on your questions:
1. That definitely is a small thumbnail, but shouldn't be that tiny - was the photo relatively small? I'm wondering if it got compressed somehow.
2. Good call out - I'll make the suggestion. I do know that from search results pages your items display with the 'X%' off in search results too, but I can see how advertising it a bit bigger on the store could be really useful. As a possible workaround for the moment you could consider changing your cover photo to let visitors to your store know you're running a sale or promotion!
3. That's a feature that was available before and we're working on getting into the new version, so keep an eye out for it in the future!
4. That's a useful feature suggestion - I'll get it to the product team!

Is it by design for the new feedback page to no longer allow saved comments? It is a small thing, but still, I am way less likely to want to bother with giving feedback if I have to manually now type out every comment.
I leave the same for every buyer upon payment, so clicking instead of stopping to type matters to me.
Hey @fern*wood: Are you in Seller Hub? You should be able to store feedback comments there and bulk leave feedback with identical comments for all orders. You'll find it under the ORDERS tab / Leave feedback section. Thanks! Sarah

I sold an item, and it arrived damaged. I have another one, and will send it to her, of course.
But I listed the 2nd one for sale...which is now Not in Stock.
Is there any way to end the ad without getting a defect?

Ebay have a live chat? Write and read good but I'm talking badly, support phone call is not a good option for me. Have a problem with the buyer, will be nice if support explain some detailsJust in an effort to help while the CSRs are busy researching questions. A buyer shouldn't be asked to try and contact Ebay to fix a FB that you want changed. It is much easier than that. As a seller you have the ability to send them a request to fix the FB. The buyer will receive an email in which they can click into and follow the instruction to revise the FB. Really easy stuff.
But keep in mind that you want your buyer to be agreeing to revise the FB and you want to make sure they know the email is coming. They have a shelf life and once you issue one, you can not issue another one if it times out.

I know this link. I used this option, but nothing happens. Silent

I am having an issue with my gallery pics. The pic I have designated on my listings as the Main Pic is NOT being used as the gallery pic. On my fragrances it is pretty straight forward, the gallery pic is defaulting to the tester pic if I have a tester on the listing, if there isn’t a tester on the listing, then it will default to the smallest size fragrance I have available on that listing.
On my craft listing, I’m not sure how it is determining which pic is going to show up as the gallery pic, but it isn’t my main pic designated on the listing.
If you go into my listing, then the proper pic shows up first, but the gallery pics are all messed up and have been for weeks. I did check with a couple other fellow sellers and they are seeing the same type of problem.
Hi @mam98031 - is this in Seller Hub or in search results? From a search results screen the gallery photo will not always be the default, depending on search term input. For example, if a variation listing for hats has colors, and I search for 'purple hat' the algorithm will work to isolate that variation and display that photo in results screen.
If it's happening in Seller Hub will you let us know so we can work on getting that reported? Thanks!

Lately when I send a counter-offer to a best offer and the bidder declines I get an email titled: Are you still interested in item xxxxxxxxx? Then in the body it states: Your counter-offer was declined.
I think the wrong form letter is being attached to the action for a declined counter-offer.
Thanks for calling this out, @dtexley3! I want to get a copy of this email so I can submit for revisions. I will reach out via email after the chat today so you can forward it to us.

Hi @vrykalak: Auctiva was actually one of the sponsors of eBay Open - so it is possible that you were talking with someone from Auctiva directly. Are you looking for the name/contact info of the Auctiva folks who were there? I can try to track that down. Thanks. Sarah

Hi Tyler,
1. The photo is a gallery image from an ebay listing, so when I submitted it with the listing it was quite large. I certainly didn't do anything to compress it.
2. Thanks. I've considered changing the store header (or whatever it's called) to promote my next sales event....but doing that for each sale could be more work than I have time for, especially since I'm not well versed in creating graphics. (It would be nice if the stores team created some templates we could use to create easy Sales Event graphics)
3. Glad to hear it. I'll be watching for it.
4. Thanks, I'm sure a lot of sellers would appreciate that.

So it is by design then. I guess it's another ebay take away to force the hub on sellers. Okay, thanks but no thanks. I'll just deal with it like everything else.
It's a shame with all the glitches and things that do need fixed that the focus seems to settle around this sort of action.

You are able to end a listing by saying it is no longer in stock without any issues. An "Out of stock" defect is only recorded when a transaction is cancelled for this reason.

I didn't think it was the Auctiva rep, but I would greatly appreciate the info. Thanks!

That is something entirely different. Fern isn't talking about having Ebay automatically leave FB as transactions happen or at a specific time. Fern is doing things like many of us do and that is leave FB personally whether that is after the buyer leaves FB for us or at some other point in the transaction process.
When we go into the new FB program, you have to leave FB one at a time. A ridiculous so called improvement, but nonetheless it is what it is doing. And it no longer retains some of the sentences we frequently used while leaving FB. Again, just adding additional work on top of everything else.
But there is one more thing. It sometimes makes you leave different FB on everyone. Lets say you are in there and you have about 10 buyers you want to leave FB on, you have to post each separately and you have to enter a UNIQUE FB comment on each one, which is probably why it isn't retaining some of the seller's commonly used comments any longer. This new and improved FB form is only creating more work for sellers.
And if the programmers would have actually thought this through, they would have realized that. The changes made to the program LOGICALLY create more work than the old form. Which I might add, there was NOTHING wrong with the old format.

What is the point of requiring BIN price to be 99¢ or more? What supposed evil was that requirement supposed to fix? Does it benefit anyone? Certainly not me, or a potential buyer who wants the item but can't wait 7 or 10 days to buy it. If I want to sell an iten for 50¢, I should be allowed to.
I asked this 4 Oct, and the answer was:
1. seller can't make money selling for less than 99¢. Yes I can, and why doesn ebay care?
2. Sellers were selling for 1¢ and charging $40 for shipping. I didn't do that. Why punish everyone for a few bad apples?
3. Sellers sold low-cost items to pad their feedback. What's wrong with feedback from a delighted customer, regardless of the price? and why does ebay care?
@vrykalak I'll start with your questions "Why does eBay care?" We care because actions taken by a few sellers can undermine trust in the marketplace for all sellers. And our research with buyers confirmed that inflated shipping costs with low list prices undermined buyers confidence in the entire market, not just with that one seller. Padding feedback through the sale of low priced items also undermined marketplace trust - both by making the system seem like it could be gamed and isn't representative of the sellers performance if they switch to high priced items. We could go back to only allowing a buyer to affect a sellers feedbck score once - but sellers want credit for repeat transactions.
I understand it is possible to make money selling items below a dollar. But when we made the change, the impact was to a very small amount of sales on eBay and it represented a disproportionate amount of costs.
If you sell items for less than $1, you can always combine a few into a single listing.
I understand we will not agree on this issue, but at this time we are not changing the pricing structure for fixed price items, so will have to agree to disagree. And, given this change was made years - is it almost a decade ago, I assume you and other sellers have made adjustments.
Thanks for selling on eBay.
Brian
