when buyers do purchase more than one listing in an order the items are often from different sellers.

What?  How does that work...one order from different sellers?

I have a seller that I purchase regularly from.  Most often, since they combine shipping on orders made with ONE payment, I buy quite a few different things (different item numbers) at the same time.

This seller takes PayPal, so his fee is 30 cents + the % if I buy one or twenty.

When he gets escorted through the one way door into managed payments, his fee for the 20 items is going to be $5 plus the % .  Does managed payments refund the $5 to the seller if the order is cancelled?  or refunded to the buyer?

Any update on getting the Quick Relist feature back?

It now takes 30-60 seconds to relist an item, even if there are no changes.
With the Quick Relist, it took 5 seconds, even if there were changes to the data in the pop-up window

...and after relisting an item, you were still in the same place in the Unsold list; you didn't have to search for your place to continue relisting.

Appreciate any help you can give us to get this feature back.

Do you know what is going on with requesting invoices? Recently I worked out discounts with several different buyers. I wanted to be able to charge them less in shipping. They said that they couldn't request an invoice from me and only could pay. Then I had to refund the overpayment.

Hi @funsationalfinds - requesting an invoice from the shopping cart is something a buyer can do as long as you allow combined payments and are not offering any other types of discounts (markdown manager, promotions manager, etc).

There are other ways for you and a buyer to arrange for a discount - from a 'private offer' via a question they ask on an item to a buyer's ability to 'make offer' on items with that feature added. These are built in ways that wouldn't require a buyer to request an invoice from you.

If you're running into a different experience would you mind getting me some more specifics? Thanks!

To me as a seller this new policy "per listings sold fee" means = this listing (item number) will receive a one time fee (0.25) when it is sold and each sold items(same item number) after this will never get charged the "per listings sold fee" again regardless how many times it sells.

It probably should be called "per item number sold payment fee" .

My first thought was the fee would be charged again with a new buyer or separate transaction from same buyer

The fee is actually charged each time a item number is purchase in a transaction and only one time per item number per transaction.

For me this is much higher in fees because I have promotions (promotion manager) that discounts at certain minimum quantity levels that cover complete categories of items.  So instead of the paypal per transaction fee (0.30) I will now have as much as 2.50 in per listing payment fees for the same transaction.

I will have to change the promotions to not include an entire category of items.  Buyers will now have to buy the minimum in the single listing in order to get the discount.

I have confusion about your new "per listings sold fee" associated with eBay managed payments?

If this new managed payment fee is called a "per listings sold fee" as written in your payments terms of use click here what does this exactly mean?

Good Luck Selling!

Hi @goodluckselling

We're working with the Payments team to figure out the best format for a Q&A session. It may be a live chat but I think having a place where you can submit questions and we come back with answers at a later time might work better. With payments and financial information, we want to make sure that all information is accurate and that may require us having more time to research questions.

Here is more info on the fee:

A per-listing payments fee works like this— example, if a buyer purchases two $5 items from you with the same eBay item number (that is, multiple quantities from the same listing), you would be charged only one payment listing fee of $0.25 plus the variable processing fee (i.e. a percentage based on the total amount of the sale).

If a buyer purchases two items from you from different listings, you would be charged the per listing payment fee of $0.25 twice, plus the variable payments processing fee (i.e. variable rate as % of sale + per listing payments fee).

We generally find the most buyers place orders for a single listing, and when buyers do purchase more than one listing in an order the items are often from different sellers. On the occasions when buyers do purchase multiple items, it is often multiple quantities of the same item. If you sell multiple quantities of the same item from the same listing (i.e. different colors of the same item) this would be counted as one per listing payments fee.

alan@ebay   A buyer can not purchase different colors from a variation. They can only purchase multiples of one color. The next color is a separate transaction. Can you clarify what was meant?

Hi @shipscript

That's not correct. Buyers can purchase different colors from a variation listing in a single transaction using the Cart.

Thanks.

The item does not imply or include CBD oil. Its hemp, on that grounds you would have to remove hempz lotion, hemp seed oil and anything that is made from hemp. My item was removed arbitrarily based on an assumption for the looks of it.

Our listings were recently removed sue to the listing containing ?Anza Cali? which was classified as a cntrolled substance according to the CSA or Controlled Substances Act. I did some research and discovered that CBD isn't even on the controlled substances list as of May 02, 2019; this was discovered using the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, 21 U.S.C. 801 et seq sited in the drug section of eBay's policy and message to me at the time of removal. I was able to get my selling privileges back but I am a bit lost as to why and how ?anza Cali? is a controlled substance according to eBay as per the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, 21 U.S.C. 801 et seq. We provide quality products at an affordable cost and wish to continue to do so and would love some real answers as to whats going on as this appears to be targeted and unfair business practices on behalf of eBay. We wish to continue to have a safe and fair online marketplace but I believe eBay has gone too far with this on. I have attached a copy of the message so you may better assist me in resolving the situation. Thank you for your time and effort looking into this matter.Ebay message.PNG

Hi @anzacalirawgreen_5 - we don't allow the sale of CBD products on the site whatsoever. If the items involved contained CBD oil we would prefer you list them for sale elsewhere regardless of the specific terms used within the listing.

This is not necessarily mandated by law or code, but is a choice we made for the eBay platform to minimize risk to all members (ourselves included) due to the complex legalities associated with those types of products.

If you have further questions concerning the specific removal of these items I'd suggest contacting Customer Support so the specific teams involved can work with you directly. Thanks!

Since the end of march when anyone here has to call Ebay customer service we get the following message.

Our account is limited due to another account tied in to our account being suspended.

We only have this one account.

So far we have not spoken to anyone in the USA. Overseas CS says our account is not limited BUT our own weekly sales show a steep decline.

Who in the USA can actually check this out?

Right now Amazon has kept our heads above water with this decline in sales.

If it can't be fixed we will be down grading our account.

Hi @automotivepartsrecyclrs, happy to have this reviewed for you. Can you tell me precisely the wording of the message you are receiving? I'm not seeing anything that would be causing this, so it may be that another eBay account has the same number listed on file as the one you are using. Either way, I can dig into this with you with a little more info.

Hi @automotivepartsrecyclrs, can you give me the URL to the video you are referencing? I'm having trouble finding something on the eBay For Business Facebook page that matches what you have described, and I don't see a YouTube channel for eBay For Business (only eBay For Business UK).

Why?

Seriously, why?

I sell one-offs. If a buyer buys four different items from me in a single transaction, why should I have to pay $1 more in fees?

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Says my account is limited due to another account associated with my account that is suspended.
I and others in this office can't seem to reach a USA based person that can help.
I have moved people off Ebay and they are working amazon until ebay fixes this issue. It is either that or give them their walking papers.
Our own records show a steep drop since the last week of march.
I either need a contact in the USA home office to check into this or have them contact me

Re: Community Chat, May 29 @ 1:00 pm PT - General Topics

trinton, The problem with the lack of notice is that, no offense, but you guys have a long history of misjudging when an announcement should be made, and it's like football.....the post game review may be useful for the next time, but it is too late to be useful for us sellers in the meantime. But, I do get what you are saying.....we should simply give up hoping that ebay will EVER grasp the level of frustration the glitch, test, policy change game creates for us.

I've been shipping for years. One of the first things I was told by my local postmaster many years ago? Put a packing slip in your package, because if the package label is damaged it may be the only way the PO knows where to send it. Maybe that isn't necessary anymore, with all their newfangled scanners and such like, but it seems like cheap insurance to me. Also, yes, over the years I've had buyers request packing slips, some people get a lot of packages, and they do prefer to use the paper slips rather than online. I don't know, maybe they are just old fuddy duddys (like me), but they are still part of my customer base.

As to the price? Again, I think you will find that the fact that the information is available on a computer is not the same thing as having it in hand when the package is opened. Some people LIKE that. I like reading a newspaper. A real newspaper. I know they are going the way of the dodo, but I still buy them and read them while I can. So I'm old, so sue me. LOL Now, can you answer my question: Why did ebay feel the need, now, to remove the price info? I follow the Boards, Facebook groups, etc, and I'm quite certain there was no groundswell of support for this, no sellers pleading with ebay to make this change. So, since clearly ebay's own experience and viewpoint are different from mine, I would like to hear from you the reasons you feel this was necessary.

And finally, understand that much of the aggravation here was compounded by the lack of notice. Most people, quite reasonably, concluded this was a glitch. This one really should have been an easy one to decide: sellers do use packing slips, and removing information that has always been there was going to be a pretty obvious change which was going to raise questions. But...coulda , woulda, shoulda....I guess.

Wow! Am I ever glad I didn't buy in to Managed Payments!
It sounded pretty good, until this 25¢/item/transaction showed up.
Seems to me, that's what's called "bait and switch"

Hello Alan,

According to the current terms of service for payments statement, ebay state the following:

If (a) you have successfully completed the managed payments onboarding process (in accordance with Section 4) prior to 00:00:00 (12:00 AM) Pacific Time on June 4, 2019 and (b) your eBay account has remained continuously enabled for managed payments: Your payments processing fees are calculated as 2.7% of the total order amount, including shipping, handling, sales tax and other amounts owed (the “payments processing rate”).

Has there subsequently been an amendment to that for the 'Variable Rate' mentioned?  Or will it be rate be variable and/or different for later 'onboarders'?

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

Technically it is no longer a 'fix', but to my understanding there was an issue with the tax information on eBay's end. So instead of correcting it, eBay simply removes it. Perhaps a better option than "print labels or invoices' is in the works?

Thank you for your reply.

Hi @mavericktradingpost - inaccuracies on the current packing slip format were a factor in the decision to remove pricing information, yes. And also yes: a new packing slip is being prepared for roll-out. Thanks!
