I, on the other hand, would prefer the Summer Release sooner rather than later. Let's just get it over with....

I have a suggestion regarding the Ebay supply coupon offered to store owners with a Basic and above.

Since the day Ebay started this program, which I like VERY much, the prices of the supplies have increased significantly but our coupons remain the same.  The buying power has dramatically changed.

Not only have prices gone up significantly the quantities in which you can purchase have changed.  We use to be able to purchase smaller quantities on many of the products offered but now the minimum is 100 on all the envelopes.

I humbly suggest that Ebay give us an increase in the value of our coupons.  In the Summer Seller Update would be awesome.

Hi @mam98031, this is great feedback for our teams and I will be sure to pass it along! slight_smile

Can ebay implement an opt out eliminating all the extra that prints out on a shipping label. I don't need cutting lines or the Ebay info, plus Pitney Bowes gibberish. It's not pertinent to the label and postage. All it does is waste a great deal of ink. Ebay should have the ability for the seller to simply print the label with nothing outside of it.

Thank you.

Hi @sodelight - there's not much option to customize the shipping label page that generates I'm afraid. You can print 1 or 2 labels per page depending on your label and printer settings. If you use USPS for example, you should be able to click 'change format' and then choose not to 'Add receipt and instructions'. That should get you to 2 labels per page. 🙂

Yes, I already know that. It's not what I'm referring to. Ebay generates other verbage that prints to the top and bottom outside of the label itself and a cutting line well beneath it. I don't need that info, it only ends up costing me money by wasting ink. I'm not understanding why ebay feels the need to add superfluous info to one's shipping label page.

Hi @sodelight - glad to hear you're caught up on the options currently offered. 🙂

Thanks for the feedback on the other printed verbiage on the labels!

I wish ebay would do something about the issue with duplicate items being promoted directly in our listings. Here ebay charges us for a store front, then uses our listings to promote someone elses identical item. We're literally paying ebay to promote someone else.

While I've raised this concern here before, I wasn't very happy with the response I was given, "We want to help buyers find what they're looking for."

I never asked why you why ebay did it, I'm telling you we don't like it, its not right, and its ruining our businesses,  its really that simple.

You can help buyers find what they're looking for in search results, you can promote all you like in my listings as well, I just wish ebay would keep this identical nonsense out of my store. Store subscribers are paying you people to promote their products, not someone elses.

The only update I've notice that comes out relatively close to the beginning of a season is the Fall Seller Update.  I have no idea if we are also going to have one of those this year.  We certainly are getting a lot of updates this year.  Far more than usual.  We have already had 2 which is normal, but usually the Spring and Fall updates.  We are potentially looking at Ebay doubling that this year.  That is cause for concern of a whole lot of changes to the site in short periods of time.

But this year has been different, so anything might happen.  We have ever had an "early" update like the Early Spring Update.  So who knows what Ebay is actually planning.

Thanks Tyler. As I said, I think it CAN be seen if my listing has Make An Offer, so I guess a workaround is to use Make An Offer on listings when I send out an SIO.....but I'd rather not. So, I agree...hope to see it as a future enhancement.

hi brian@ebay - I wanted to follow up on some of the recent questions about the seller protections announced in the spring update regarding protections being applied when there is a history or pattern of buyer abuse.

My questions are:

1: How is eBay tracking the reports to establish that history? Is it done by buyer ID alone or are other factors considered when looking at a buyer's history to establish if there has been a pattern of abuse?

2: How does that get applied to guest account IDs? The nature of guest accounts usually means that specific ID will only have 1 transaction tied to it, so there would not be a possibility of a "history or pattern of abuse" for that ID.

Hi @autopiacarcare, reports we receive are recorded on the member's account and we are able to identify when an individual has multiple accounts and take the activity across all accounts into consideration. Guest accounts are no different, as the factors that help us identify links between accounts are not reliant upon completing registration.

Re: Community Chat, July 3 @ 1:00 pm PT - General Topics

Why do some returns come through as "return requested" while other returns come through as "return approved"? I had 2 remorse returns come through on the same day- one as approved, one as requested- what criteria determines the difference?

Both items offered free returns.

Both requests were remorse returns.

All of my returns require an RMA number.

All of my items have package weight and dimensions in the listing.

Hi @kathy5862, PayPal is a payment option for buyers through managed payments 🙂 Sellers in managed payments currently need to to use PayPal when paying for shipping labels on eBay.

Hi @gamersbaystore, while we understand that you may not agree, we can only reiterate that this practice benefits our platform as it helps buyers to find the right match for what they are looking for. This is something that is considered industry standard and while other options on eBay may be highlighted for your customers, you can focus on providing providing clear photos, detailed descriptions, a great value, and services such as Free Returns or Free Shipping to maximize your success. From your store you can run promotions to encourage repeat customers and build your brand on our site. We appreciate you touching base and providing feedback, and encourage you to review some of the listings from your competitors to identify changes you can make to stay competitive.

Re: Community Chat, July 3 @ 1:00 pm PT - General Topics

On the new "manage orders awaiting shipment" page we got stuck with needs some changes. Ebay needs to add a "time paid"  sorting button, when I go to print a order(don't get me started on the printing page), print the label and go back to orders, if someone buys a item it pops up at the top of page. I have to be VERY careful not to print a label for the new order, there's no way to change sorting for new orders to show up at bottom of the list. I pull orders and line them up when I print the labels, one of these times I'm gonna get distracted and ship the wrong order.

Tyler, I would like to e-mail you an image of an eBay label compared to a Stamps.com label and point out ways eBay could improve their label format so you can pass feedback to the shipping team.

cottage books- You can use this direct link, just replace ITEMNUMBER with your listing number. It should show your SIOs even if the listing doesn't include best offer.
