I have a question.

Is ebay now letting paypal through the new payment system???
I have not switched yet.

If so Is shipping coming out of checking or Paypal?

Hi @kathy5862, PayPal is a payment option for buyers through managed payments 🙂 Sellers in managed payments currently need to to use PayPal when paying for shipping labels on eBay.

I am in managed payments and I use my credit card to pay for shipping labels on eBay.

I'm not in MP, but if I was, I'd do the same thing.  I have a CC that I get a higher percentage of cash back bonuses for online purchases.  I pay this card off every month, but I collect and save all my cash back bonuses for Christmas Shopping.  It makes for a great way to save a little on every transaction to put smiles on the faces of those I love.  Corny but true.

I have seen that ebay's going to charge .25 fee per listing sold on manage payments, I offer combine shipping to my buyers, will that apply to combined orders, if so, now manage payments will cost more the paypal who only charges .30 per transaction. That will disappoint my buyers because I will have to pass that cost to them and will hold off signing up for manage payments for as long as I can.

Can ebay implement an opt out eliminating all the extra that prints out on a shipping label. I don't need cutting lines or the Ebay info, plus Pitney Bowes gibberish. It's not pertinent to the label and postage. All it does is waste a great deal of ink. Ebay should have the ability for the seller to simply print the label with nothing outside of it.

Thank you.

Hi @sodelight - there's not much option to customize the shipping label page that generates I'm afraid. You can print 1 or 2 labels per page depending on your label and printer settings. If you use USPS for example, you should be able to click 'change format' and then choose not to 'Add receipt and instructions'. That should get you to 2 labels per page. 🙂

Actually I think that is the actual answer right there: when you check the option to suppress the additional instructions and shipping record info from the Shipping label to be printed, you do in fact end up with nothing but the label itself. (Okay, it does still print the cut line next to the label, but nothing beyond that point, which appears to be what the OP is asking for.)

EDIT: Okay, I see you posted a followup at the same time as I did, but I do believe that blanking out the packing instructions and other blather on the other half opposite the label itself is the best you're going to do. The amount of extra ink wasted to print that rather unnecessary cut line is infinitesimal.

Thank you, but it prints out much more than the cut line (that alone wastes ink). It prints out ebay promotional info about selling beneath the label and stating it's an ebay shipping label at the top. None of this is necessary. If I'm shipping an item, I already sell on ebay, no need to promote that to me. There's often an entire string of Pitney Bowes gibberish too. I use a pdf eraser program to eliminate this, but it's extra work. Ink is too expensive to waste printing out superfluous info on each label page, which I'd end up cutting away anyway. It adds up.

I haven't been switch over yet but my sister and husband have.

It looks like a real mess from what I can see.

No customizing really makes it hard to see what you prefer.

No emails either. We alway run emails to see if they are repeat buyers or have bought separately.

Sure hope they fix things before I get switched.

On the new "manage orders awaiting shipment" page we got stuck with needs some changes. Ebay needs to add a "time paid"  sorting button, when I go to print a order(don't get me started on the printing page), print the label and go back to orders, if someone buys a item it pops up at the top of page. I have to be VERY careful not to print a label for the new order, there's no way to change sorting for new orders to show up at bottom of the list. I pull orders and line them up when I print the labels, one of these times I'm gonna get distracted and ship the wrong order.

Hi @tsme35, I'm happy to pass along your feedback to the shipping team. Thanks!

Are you saying there is no email notification that a buyer has paid?

If so, is there a site preference you can change so that you can get these emails?

Why do some returns come through as "return requested" while other returns come through as "return approved"? I had 2 remorse returns come through on the same day- one as approved, one as requested- what criteria determines the difference?

Both items offered free returns.

Both requests were remorse returns.

All of my returns require an RMA number.

All of my items have package weight and dimensions in the listing.

Hi @coffeebean832 - sounds like there's a potential technical issue at play.

As you know, auto accept will occur when an eBay return label is available based on the item's weight, dimensions and the members location.

Returns meeting the following conditions will be auto accepted immediately following the buyer opening a request:

  • If you offer free returns
  • The return was opened inside your return policy window
  • Buyer-paid remorse returns
  • Returns with the following conditions will be auto accepted after the initial time period if you do not accept:
    • The request is outside your return policy window but within eMBG coverage
    • If you require an RMA
      • In this case, the SNAD return is accepted at open but you have 3 business days to provide the RMA and, if you wish, an alternate label
      • For remorse returns, the return is accepted at open, you are given 1 business day to provide the RMA information
    • The return was opened with a reason of damaged or missing parts and pieces.

Sounds like in this case the items were meeting identical criteria. I'll get it reported. 🙂

I viewed one of my listings last night to check how something was displaying. Sometimes eBay sends out e-mails after you view a listing encouraging you to purchase. About half an hour ago I received an e-mail:

Subject- "Item Title" is no longer available

Open e-mail and it says-

Let us help you find an alternative This item is no longer available:

[link to item]

Below that it shows several listings from other sellers.

The item IS still available, it is a GTC listing that's scheduled to renew in approx 24 hours. Why is eBay sending a message saying that the item is no longer available? That's very disappointing to see eBay tell potential buyers that an active listing is no longer available for sale.

Thanks for the feedback on the other printed verbiage on the labels!

Tyler, I would like to e-mail you an image of an eBay label compared to a Stamps.com label and point out ways eBay could improve their label format so you can pass feedback to the shipping team.

Hi @coffeebean832, can you give us the item number so we can review what may have happened?

No, On mine It shows buyer name and email.

So I have another tab up and run the emails out of my see all orders section.

That way I see if they have bought before and also if they have paid at different time.

Like over weekend some buyers buy one day and 2 days later buy again.

Save me on shipping if I ship all item together.

Just as some additional information.  I have seen this since last year.  I've had the exact same thing happen and I too require an RMA.  I do not have any current examples but if it is a glitch, it is consistent and for me has happened for many months.
