To post your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, type your question, and hit submit between 1-2 PM Pacific Time. The format of our chat mirrors the format of our Community Discussion Boards, where each post will appear in the thread chronologically. The Community Team will review each question as it comes in, and will quote the original question in our reply. This quote and the reply will appear later in the thread, so just keep scrolling down to see our answers.

Around two weeks ago I was on the on-line chat with EBAY Trust and Security for 30 minutes.
I begged, I pleaded, then I begged and I pleaded some more, anything I could think of to appeal to ebay to shut down two listings that had 8 hours to go that were selling pirated, illegal items. I felt strongly because items were only worth pennies (only the ink and paper they were reprinted on) had bids combined of over $ 1000.00.
Ebay promised to look into these listings and take appropriate action.
Well, both items closed without being cancelled, and two ebay members were scammed out of over $ 1500. And today, these sellers have current counterfeit listings. What happened?
What more could I have done? Yes, I also reported the listing (report item) and the sellers (report a seller). I feel like I failed terribly. The system feels terribly broken.

In this week's eBay for Business Podcast, an ebay exec stated that sellers who missed the registration deadline for Managed Payments will not be able to create new listings until they do register. My question: Will sellers who missed the deadline be able to do relists of existing listings? Will their GTC listings roll over, or will they end at the end of their current 30 day time frame?

I find it frustrating buying from major retailers on eBay. Seems like every time I buy from a major retailer they cancel my order due to "problem with address". I've generally been using the same address for the last 10 years. eBay seems to favor the large sellers over us smaller ones demonstrated by the policies. Despite that from my experience the large sellers seem to provide the worst experience. Having to deal with this multiple times now disincentivizes me to buy retail items here. Sad thing is even if eBay does anything about this behavior eBay will end up punishing us small sellers more than the big ones. It would be nice if the major retailers were held to higher standards on eBay and weren't allowed to disregard policies as they see fit.
The 5% bucks incentive is nice, but it looks like I will be buying the items I need on a different site that will actually follow through on them.

Also wanted to follow up with the whole eBay deliberately misrepresenting our handling times thing. Since there is no solution yet my only option is to take longer to ship my items in the hopes to get the system to quit lying to my buyers.

On July 15, I received a notice to register for Managed Payments. It stated that I would be enrolled by "late July."
Here are my questions.
1. Why such short notice and why the lack of specificity as to the enrollment date? Like many sellers, I prefer to set up a separate bank account for receiving eBay payments. Not only do I have very little time to do that, I don't even know what the enrollment date will be.
2. How can I contact the Managed Payments team for questions? I've started the registration process, yet I see no way to contact MP to get my questions answered. Telephone support has not been available when I've checked.
3. Why is eBay enrolling more sellers when there's insufficient customer support? This is a large change, and one that doesn't necessarily benefit us as sellers. I think providing support to help us make the transition is the least eBay could do.

Hi @my-cottage-books-and-antiques - I'm not able to discuss specifics when it comes to this aspect of the managed payments transition. If you are registered (or have received a notice to register) you should consider requesting a call back from a payments trained teammate (link here).
Thanks!

@lesctag you took the right step by reporting the listing. Our teams do review reports received from members and take action based on our findings. Keep in mind that these reports are placed in a queue and worked in the order received.
We can take action on a listing even after it's sold and proper notification of that would be given the any impacted buyers. Additionally, the eBay Money Back Guarantee is available for buyers in situations where they receive an item that doesn't match the listings description or isn't authentic.

Hi @gwzcomps, we're looking into the examples that have been provided. No update to provide currently and while we do not always receive new information to provide on the boards, we will let you know if anything changes.

Ok thanks. It is very irritating that many of my items are selling as fast and free despite my 5 day handling time. If I understand from last week with "late" deliveries eBay covers the return shipping costs, but I am still on the hook for the original label. That is unacceptable.

With the radical changes to the number of free listings offered to store subscriptions starting August 1, will we have the option to downgrade yearly store subscriptions without penalty?
Hi @randomsl - there has been no announced change to the store subscription model itself. If you are in a yearly agreement there is not an option to downgrade without paying a termination fee. Thanks!

tyler,
I was asking for a friend. I'm registered and supposedly will be onboarded sometime this evening. I just figured, given that an ebay exec has put this out there publicly, and given that ebay is now onboarding sellers, maybe ebay could inform the Community Team of some of these little details, or at least permit you to inquire on our behalf? But I guess not. This stonewall eBay has erected to make it difficult for sellers to find even basic information like this is simply incomprehensible to me. It certainly isn't winning ebay any points with the Seller Community, I can tell you that.

Hi guys-
Do you have an answer to this question I posted a week ago regarding the additional listings starting August 1?
When a seller lists something in one of the select categories that saw an increase- will that come from the “additional” allotment or will it come from the base fixed price allotment?
For example- a Premium store seller has 1,600 listings. 100 are in one of the select categories, but those listings renew early in the month before the 1,000 limit is reached. Will those 100 listings come off the 1,000 fixed limit or will they come off the additional allotment?

This morning I noticed my seller hub said "ship within 24 hours" on the tasks tab. But that wasn't true. I have one day handling, so I needed a scan by midnight tonight. If I shipped tomorrow morning it would be late even though it was within 24 hours.
That wording should be changed to "must ship today to be on time" or something similar.
