Hello eBay,
I need to determine if the best offer is from a Promoted Listing or an Organic Listing. I sell new goods with low margins. If I am selling a $400 item with an 8 percent Promoted Listing fee ($32) I can't accept a seller's offer of $350. If the buyer found me from either my EPN promotion or my eBay organic listing there will not be a $32 Promoted listing fee and I can accept his offer.
This is a real-life scenario that happens every week and I have no solution that will allow me to make a sound business decision.
How can I get the information I need from eBay. Clearly, eBay servers have this information Prior to me accepting the offer. I just need the information BEFORE I accept the offer.

Hey @maxoptical - I appreciate the feedback! I'll pass this along to the right team for review.

Although this seems inconsequential today, I still want to get a response about item specifics and the "required" specifics coming soon.
All of my variation listings are coming up as needing updating for item specifics, particularly for color and size and in fact those are the variations?
I've been asking for weeks. Do you guys know anything? Who can we turn to?
This is going to affect a good number of my listings.
How can we have variation listings and then be required to put in One Size or One Color in item specifics.
(the teams need to talk to each other and get a resolution for us)
Hi @golfingaddict - I know this has been on your radar for a long time, I'm sorry we haven't gotten you something definitive yet.
Will you remind me if you've spoken with the structured data team about this already (sdsupport@ebay.com)? We'll need to get something escalated to them on this I think.
No, I have not spoken to anyone, nor has anyone given any answers or suggestions.
I have listings with thousands of views, hundreds of watchers and sales and the variation is size. Now ebay says I have to add size? Which one? There are five different sizes in the listing. This is going to be a nightmare.
I started asking about this a few months ago, now we are almost at the deadline and nothing has been answered.
Thanks for the clarification @golfingaddict - the best people to contact on this would be that team directly. You are able to email them the concerns you are encountering with your variation listings and the upcoming required item specifics.
Please let me know when you hear back from them in the event we need to escalate it further than that team. Thanks!

I will email them at that email you posted. (and that is the first that I have heard about that email)

Thanks for joining the chat today - it is now closed but we will continue to go through and make sure that questions receive a reply!

Hello this week, and again thanks for doing this: hoping you and the crew are all doing well.
Might as well ask about reports of emails about coins, bullion and managed payment finally coming together so user can sell such:
Do you have any info on this??
Hi @donsdetour - happy new year! Hope you had a nice, uneventful one. 🙂
Yes - I found out about this late yesterday: the process of onboarding the bullion, coins and paper money category into managed payments is going to be happening soon. I know that members should be receiving emails about this process over the next week with more details (some may already have begun to receive them).
I don't have much beyond that though - I hope that helps!
But there needs to be an announcement on this. This is a big deal to many and a big step forward for MP. And are any of the other restricted categories affected.
Hi @mam98031 - I don't disagree. I'll make sure this input is shared!
Edit to add: I'm not aware of any other currently restricted categories being brought into managed payments.

Good afternoon eBay Support Team
Subject: Managed Payments Weekly Payouts
Sellers need the ability to select what day of the week they have their Weekly Payouts occur on. The current day is Tuesday and eBay is inflexible in allowing it to be changed. I am sure prior to MP and this decision eBay had algorithms showing most sales happening on Weekends and that is surely the case with the categories we sell in. As such, and with the built in delays for money to change hands in MP, a lot of money is left on the table each week on Tuesday when it could be paid in FULL either by days end Tuesday or another selected day.
There is no reason that Sellers should not be given the choice on what day they get paid ... MP offers Daily payouts so its not like they can't pay on other "business days" of the week, none at all.
This weeks example is this: eBay withheld 22% of sales dollars heading in to Tuesday. At 9 AM (EST) ON PAYOUT DAY, I checked and 6% more went from Pending to Available ... at 1 PM (EST) the remaining 16% went from Pending to Available ... well, its STILL PAYOUT DAY, why isn't that money being sent? I have posted before AND asked the MP rep when I spoke to them I would pick Wed or Thurs ... if I had a Wed payout this week I would have gotten 100%.
Since Aug 7 I have only had 3 weeks result in 100% payout and one of those was that one MP glitch week, I believe in October on the National Holiday ... on Tuesday I got 2 Payouts totaling 100% of monies owed.
"Selling Partners" work together ... I'm not really feeling the love on this Weekly Payouts issue from my "Selling Partner" ...
If possible, please pass this on to the department that handles Managed Payments for a future enhancement ... hopefully as early as First Quarter 2021 (this year).
@mr_lincoln - This is something we've passed along in the past, but I'm happy to let them know you're still interested in this. There are currently no announced plans to change the days for payouts.

tyler@ebay is there any progress on the battery tax error issue? At least an acknowledgement or confirmation from the technical and tax teams about what happened? It's been two and a half weeks, surely eBay has gotten at least that far by now.
Hi @valueaddedresource - I don't have an update on this to share at this point. I will update the thread we have about this when I do though!

I received a concerning email from ebay that sates
"Starting January 13, 2021, sellers in the Coins & Paper Money categories, including Bullion, will be notified to register or will be activated for managed payments if you’ve already pre-registered. Sellers that are already activated on managed payments may create listings in these categories beginning January 25."
If I am preregistered and activated on Jan 13 what happens to my listings until January 25th? Coins and bullion will still be restricted from the 13th to the 25th? On the 13th will all my listings be taken down if I am activated on the 13th?
No fees have been announced. How do I know what my ebay fees will be on that date? Currently prior to the switch coins are the same price as stamps. Will that continue and will coins stay the same price as stamps?
Also I have seen lots of people having trouble signing up to managed payments but I had none. If the payments tab says "You've successfully registered for managed payments" am I done? Or will I require any more action? I just don't want to be part of the wide spread problems getting payouts.
Hi @coinslabz26 - I don't have specifics on this detail. The information I have specify that currently activated managed payments sellers will be able to list currency/coins as of January 25th, but that pre-registered members may be activated between the 13th and that date. I've requested clarification and will update you here as I hear back.
When it comes to payments registration I'm really not able to provide much support (you must contact a payments trained teammate via callback request for that). However, from what I've seen shared on the boards from other members you shouldn't have any problem with your payouts as long as you've made sure that all your information matches and is correct between your eBay account and the bank information you provided when pre-registering.
Just for clarity. I think the other poster is concerned that if they get activated in MP when they register, sometime between the 13th and 24th, what will happen to their coin listings. Will they get ended because they can't be processed by MP until on and after the 25th? Are they expected to stop selling during that period if this is all they sell?
Hi @mam98031 - thanks for the help! I'm on the same page, and will update them when I hear back with more detail. 🙂

Hello eBay,
Why do we constantly get notified about best offers when we have already accepted, declined, or offered a different price. In this example, both of the circled items have already been answered yet eBay keeps telling me I have new offers that I don't. With multiple people working the eBay account this is just a big waste of time opening these alerts to find they have already been taken care of by a different employee.

Hello eBay,
Why is there a several hour delay between the actual sale on eBay and the email sent about the sale? All other modern platforms send emails within 12 and a half seconds of receiving an order. This delay makes the emails of very little use as the order has most likely been boxed and shipped by the time we get an email.
Thanks,

@maxoptical - Can you start a thread on the Technical Issues board with examples? I'd be happy to review with you.

Just wanted to go on record as being less than thrilled about the Payment Methods on item listings being being removed from the listing area shown in the snippet below and, instead, being displayed only on the Shipping & Payments tab now.
Community volunteers find the Payment Methods to be crucial in helping OPs with a wide range of questions. Whether an OP is using PayPal or Managed Payments for their payment processor is vital information in helping resolve an OP's issue(s). Adding an extra step to find the information is a detriment to community members assisting others.
@pburn - I'm on the same page with you. I've passed along your feedback from here, as well as the previous thread.

Oh I just thought of another question.
In the latest seller update a new "send watcher an offer" feature was added to "automatically send offers".
There is no information regarding this feature. How does it work?
If I select the box how long after a buyer views, watches, or adds to cart will the receive the offer? It seems effective if it sends the offer days later but does it offer it at point of sale? Basically just how does this feature work?
Hi @coinslabz26 - Can you believe that that was only 3 months ago?
I remember that feature! I think it's useful for 'set it and forget it' listings that you have deep quantity on and are okay with consistently accepting a lower price. Details about it are on this help page (this link should go straight to the right section).
If you've already read that one and still have questions will you start a thread and tag me to it with them so I can chase them down for you?

@coffeebean832 - Item numbers still work. The shipping team knows the data is being weird and changing, so they can still use that information to see what's going on. I sent you an e-mail, just get me some examples when you can.
Tagging @golfingaddict - I saw you are seeing something similar. If you're willing to share examples please post a thread on Technical Issues or let me know if you would like me to e-mail you.
This is not the first time that I have mentioned this. This has been going on for months.
I can "start another thread" but you know about it, the shipping team knows about it. Perhaps they should reach out to REAL SELLERS to find out what they have been experiencing rather than have sellers post to another thread!! Sorry if that sounds rude, but I have brought up two issues today that have been going on and reported by me for MONTHS.
And always I'm told to start a thread and/or someone will email me for examples. AND nothing has happened, no one has contacted me and no one has even acknowledged that this is just bad data being used against sellers (Check the old weekly threads and you will find my posts on the same two subjects)
Shipping issue with that stupid "
- PRE-SHIPMENT INFO SENT USPS AWAITS ITEM
And
Item specifics for variation listings for color and size demanding I add those even though size and color is the variation.
Sorry, but when ebay holds sellers to certain standards and then gives faulty data and when they expect sellers to add item specifics to listings that already have that info, then the answer is not to ask sellers for "more examples"
What more can I tell you. Another thread?
@golfingaddct I have been equally as frustrated about this issue not being resolved. On my end, I can only push for a fix with recent examples to show that it's still impacting sellers. So I really appreciate you doing this again. I know this can feel repetitive.

Let’s level set this conversation, eBay does have documented policy statements that state:
- “we have zero tolerance for fraud on eBay”
- “Seller fraud is any attempt by sellers to misrepresent themselves, or the products they're selling.”
So no hypotheticals, exact example:
2017 Panini Patrick Mahomes Cracked Ice Auto # 20 of 25 (sold as RP or reprint) Sports Card
This card is marked "authentic signature" on the front and "The autograph is guaranteed by Panini America, Inc." on the back.
Since the item itself is marked as authentic and guaranteed but sold as a reprint, how is that not the seller misrepresenting the authenticity and guarantee statements marked right on the item? How is this not seller fraud?
Fraud would be misrepresenting the authenticity and guarantee statements printed on the card through a reprint or RP. Isn’t this a clear cut example of seller fraud?
Again fraud no matter who actually reprinted the item, there might be counterfeiting, copyright violations, trademark violation above and beyond the fraud, but shouldn’t this be dealt with first as fraud?
In your response, please first address if eBay considers this real example as seller fraud.
@justsc92 - I'm not an expert on sports cards, so I am not able to give any kind of advice on authenticity. As before, if you feel an item is counterfeit it should be reported through the site for review.
While I appreciate your passion on this subject and your persistence in wanting to see something you can see has been done, reporting these items is the appropriate path to follow. Going forward, we may no longer respond to these questions other than to refer you to the answers we're previously provided.
