Have you ever tried using the Notes field you can access from the Seller Hub? I use it for certain things and it works well for me. Just a thought.

You are here to sell and they are paying the price you asked-where is the complaint in that? Do you have any idea how much stuff is here and sold here and elsewhere? That is the basis of selling.

Hi @divwido - that would simplify things, for certain! You are able to use the 'Custom Label' field in Seller Hub to add those details once the listings are live, but it would definitely make things easier if it was a part of the listing flow. I'll make sure this idea gets to the listing team as a suggestion for a future enhancement. Thanks!

I lost most of my December sales due to a miscomunicaiton between Paypal and eBay. On Dec 11th my daily impretions dropped from 25k per day to 200 per day. I called support numerous times demanding some kind of exsplanation. On the phone I was getting "Lets work on your title and see if we can get the imprestions back" I tried to explain there had to be something wrong with my account to drop from 25,000 to 200 overnight. I called many many times and finnally I got a call back from eBay, I was told that Paypal had a tax issue with my account and my eBay account was severly restricted I got Paypal on a confernce call with eBay. Paypal confirmed there was no issue and there never was an issue with my Paypal account. I was told by eBay the Paypal restriction would be removed in a couple of days. I went 2 weeks before I got any impressions back, they are now slowly coming back but I was told it will take weeks to get back to my prior levels. Why am I the TRS seller penialized with weeks of no sales due to a eBay/Paypal communicaiton issues. I asked for a refund for the Anchore store fees and I was denied. I am officially requesting someone from eBay to call me in regards to this issue. John Norman ebay seller MAXOPTICAL.

Someone asked earlier about getting a defect for shipping late at buyer's request.
It leads me to ask: what is the PURPOSE of assigning defects?
My understanding is that the purpose is to flag instances of poor customer service, so the seller understands a need to improve.
The example of a late shipment defect for responding to a customer request seems to me to be an example of superbly GOOD customer service.

I want them inside the listing, not as a note. I use notes too, that isn't what I'm trying to do.
I think that is a GREAT idea.

Hi!
I'm a first timer in the weekly ebay chat. My question concerns what I call "ghost sellers" on eBay. These are the ebay stores that create listings that are just upcharging another valid ebayer's listing, and don't actually stock anything themselves - the ebayer with the item ends up shipping it to the customer, and the customer thinks the ghost seller who overcharged them took care of their purchase?
It's a deceptive trade practice, and no doubt illegal. It worsens an already flooded market and harms the consumer. The consumer not only pays more than they would have had they found the actual ebayer who stocked the item, but they are under the incorrect impression that the ghost seller gave them good customer service, when the ghost seller took the profit and never touched the product.
In addition to that, ebay is double-dipping on FVF fees by allowing this trade practice to occur. You get one FVF fee when the ghost seller sells the product and another FVF when they drop-ship it off the actual ebayer who stocks it. I believe this double-dipping is also illegal.
I've reported a store last month who attempted to drop ship off my store, and ebay's CSR said they've had multiple reports on them - but I checked today and they are still in business. They have an "anchor" store, and don't stock anything. I cancelled their order when I noticed who it was that purchased the item versus who it was being shipped to. If I would have shipped the product to the end consumer, he would have had the false impression that this ghost seller took care of them and I miss out on the repeat business that I could have generated had the customer known it was me. They don't pay attention to the packing slip in the shipment, they'll look on their ebay purchase history and click on that seller's userID or store icon, and return there to purchase.
There are many like them, flooding the market with so many listings without an actual product, and not only does that make it more difficult for consumers to find what they want at a fair price, it also decreases the number of views that actual stocking ebayers' listings receive, forcing us to pay "promoted listings" fees to increase visibility - more profit to ebay from a deceptive trade practice.
What is ebay doing to prevent this? All you have to do is view the items that a ghost seller has sold versus the items they bought - and you'll see they are identical. I really wish ebay would proactively "vet" sellers when they want to open a store, and once vetted, leave us to take care of our customers.
Thank you
Hi @shop_giftworthy! The situation you've described is against our policy that sellers either need to have the items in their inventory or they must have an existing agreement with a third party to fulfill the delivery of the item. We do have measures in place to proactively identify sellers that are not adhering to this stance and will take appropriate actions taken on their account. You are welcome to report examples to us through the listing under the Listing Practices > Search & Browse Manipulation > Other search and browse manipulation options.

I had a listing pulled that raises more questions than answers and it has created uncertainty. Any other word in my title could also potentially be a problem. Like word TORINO which is a car and a designer or the word LEAF.
ebay states in the message that they removed "FEATHER" from my title, but they removed the listing! And what is wrong with the word "FEATHER"? It is not just an object--it is a VERB and DESCRIPTIVE TERM as I state "FEATHER LIKE" in title.
"Please understand that you used the unrelated keywords "FEATHER" in the title and/or description of the listing. Hence, we removed "FEATHER" from your listing #title and/or description#. As you may list other items on our site, please be sure that only keywords that are directly related to the item should be included in the listing. Keywords can generally be defined as product names, item conditions, generic style/model terms, materials that an item is made from or other much searched words. Unrelated keywords affect search results and may lead to a poor buying and searching experience on eBay.
Please make sure that your current and future listings follow these guidelines. If they don't, they'll be removed, and your fees won't be refunded. It could also result in additional actions, including loss of buying and selling privileges on eBay."

Hi @vrykalak! We agree that honoring a buyers request to shop an item late is good customer service! If the buyer requested delayed shipment within eBay messages then customer service can remove a resulting late shipment defect. The seller would need to call in or message our social media customer support to have the message reviewed and defect removed.

Hi @rosevelyn, there are times that a keyword can be considered spamming in the title when it would reasonably lead to confusion for buyers in search or an artificial increase in your appearance in search results. Because of this, words that would be acceptable in the description may be flagged for removal in the title. You should be able to relist the item with appropriate adjustments to title based on what you have shared here.
