sofware alogarithm

eBay tracking software algorithm is faulty ... it will register a simple transaction info # as legit tracking number ... --- they should at least post a Caution or warning if someone by mistake inputs the WRONG numbers  they will be liable for their mistakes ...

Re: sofware alogarithm

There is no way to validate a tracking number entered by a seller as valid until it has been scanned by the carrier.

You want the impossible.

it is NOT impossible to POST a simple Warning as a precaution  to prevent future legal action

Re: sofware alogarithm

It isn't eBay's responsibility to make sure the seller is placing the correct tracking numbers into an order, it is the sellers.

I suggest purchasing your shipping labels on eBay to prevent further errors...problem solved.

What legal action would there be if the seller screwed up and entered the wrong tracking number?

Have a great day.

That's why you double check before hitting the submit button.

I don't think that sellers that input incorrect tracking information will be subject to legal action.  Sure, maybe an annoyed buyer and a forced refund, but not legal action.

Seriously, I don't think that eBay needs to warn adults that mistakes will be their responsibility to cover.
