"We are not able to promote your listing right now"

I've been getting the above message when using the promoted listings feature while creating a listing on a PC (the checkbox at the bottom before listing/saving draft). It had been working prior to this morning. It directs me to the promoted listing dashboard, but there is no information as to why it can't be promoted or what I need to do to enable promoting it. Please advise.

I'm both sorry and thrilled to hear it's happening to you, too. Sorry because it stinks and thrilled because I'm not the only one. It's still happening intermittently but not as frequently as when I posted about it and I have had zero feedback from anyone at eBay regarding the issue. Hopefully someone will weigh in with a solution/explanation!

I guess guys, If we already listed some items on eBay and no one bought yet from us, Ebay wont let us promote our items. At least they want maybe to see good feedback. This issue is happening with me too. Keep me updates guys. Thanks

I just had the same issue, directing me to the promoted listing dashboard. No information was provided as to why the listing was unable to be promoted.

I called eBay and spoke to a very helpful representative—she told me that it seemed to be an occasional technical glitch but had not heard of it happening before.

She directed me to the 'Revise Listing' page and told me to try promoting the listing again and it worked just fine. I expressed concern about the fact that it would cost additional time to have to go back and revise every new listing after receiving this error message and she told me that this would be forwarded to the technical team.

I also expressed how it would save both us sellers and their customer service representatives time and money if the tech teams actually reviewed these forums and answered questions so we don't have to call, wasting our time and theirs.

I get the same error.  I immediately revise and it seems to work as normal.  Annoying, but works.

I'm wondering if it happens more when you create the listing 'sell similar' and the item you're duplicating had the promotion already in it?

Just end the current listing and relist with the promotion

I haven't been able  to list  any new items at all since  yesterday . I keep getting a warning message  about an invalid charity ID number ,, huh ? I had to send an e mail since no e bay reps are available  to get this resolved .. If it's not soon  I'll just close down for awhile .  Too many kinks  on e bay ,, thankfully  I sell other places too   or go broke .  - Tulips

I called eBay yesterday... they said they added my account to the list of ones that have the "bug". It's not across the board. Rather it's on select accounts. If yours is doing it, call eBay and make them aware. The issue started on 6/29 with no ETA on when it will be resolved. Not good for us sellers!!
